A Rising Tide For Contest
There once was a climate change doubter
He really was quite a shouter
Until late one night
The high tide just right
Found the beach house he loved under water

Ego-Hurt
Smile it hurts my pride
Arising rage, a rising tide
And it all just began
So you better start beggin'
For I'm a pagan,
I'll have you walk out the margin
My gods are unforgiving
And i aint for giving...

the rising tide

God's Sparkle
GOD’S SPARKLE

When you turn your boat’s bow
To the morning sun
And the mizzen now is shaded
By yellow sails
Your face is to the rising tide
And into the breeze
Scattering the churned waves
And God’s sparkle surrounds you

One school shooting in Alabama
  And another in Louisiana

Here's a protest in the park
That's gone on and on past dark

There's an angry rising tide
  Demanding gun-violence to subside

A Savage Sea
A Savage sea has summoned me
its white waves beckon and call
for those wild winds with their morbid tunes
have become one with the Loreli's song.

Embraced by the waves and the rising tide
I fight their caresses for naught

Nevermore,
Nevermore,
shall I see the shore.

The sea has summoned me....

Prominence walking barefoot Check out the chaos below The soundless roar of foam and smoke The banshee howls at the rising tide Dragged and swept away The wind chafes. Tortured through a slap It is ghostly and eerie in her hair She must tiptoe over cliffs.

Homage
A pious, mankind’s god,
Opted for his abode,
A secluded place
Amid untrodden ways

The white surf crown,
Behoves the emerald green ocean,
With the silver- sand beach,
Where he used to preach.

On that lone shore he left behind,
His foot prints on the strand,
Even the rising tide would not beat,
But pay homage to them and retreat!...

Dark music floods my chamber
Like a slowly rising tide
That laps against the silence
Where my fondest dreams reside.

Dark music bathes the morning
With its languid, liquid tune,
Conundrum-like concerto,
Every note a cryptic rune.

Dark music wakes me gently
From the warm embrace of sleep
And sings to me of treasures
I can have, but never keep....

Firth of Cyde
the north wind blows
across the firth or clyde
the done in ferry boat
fights the rising tide
birds of prey they glyde
we beasties run and hide
up the furth of clyde

when the off shore wind blows
then you should never go
where it will take you
you can never know
might be wee cumbrea
might be arron
or some distant land
you will wash up on the sand...

Sometimes I believe you
to be a vision, fading,
only a reflection of the
warmth I used to feel.
Today my memory of you
locked away within a
clenched mind, like grains
of sand perpetually
slipping through the cleft
of time. A memory scattered
along the highway of
despondent souls, soon
to be washed away by
the rising tide of oblivion!

Serenity
Serenity, fluctuates as I pray
Energy, calming as I lay
Temptation, follows the rising tide
Help me god, for I want to hide

Simple moods sway the ocean
Hurry, I seek refuge by the commotion
Ironic, the seamless growing of my heart
Remembering the ideas of her torn apart
Empathy sharing from my dying power
Yellow, the sunflower blossoms with each watering every hour...

Through the Mist

Dawns mists do not deny what they obscure
encasing us in cones of all alone
create a fear that none - but one - endure
the silencing of memories unknown.
Cool damp of muted teardrops - never pure
obliterate the beauty of the throne
as kingdoms of imagination rise
on echoes of a misted, rising tide.

I Am
I am the smile on your face as you awake.

I am that first kiss; awkward, unexpected, unforgettable.

I am that summer in your youth,
that you relive in your mind.

I am the one you've been looking for,
  but you will never find.

I am the guilt that you are too ashamed to mention.

I am the tears that you will never get back.

I am the beast beneath the rising tide.

I am you....

How My Emotions Seem To Flow
Life
It breaths air into my repose
And fill me with the sensation of feeling
The tempests that batter
My already bruised brain
Never seems to cease in their
Agony

Hope
It fills my days with glimmering light
And makes me feel as if all is right
The oceans of my tattered mind
Go in and out with the rising tide
And seem to ease the of all my
Suffering

But in the end I hope all is well
And the morality is intact....

The Curse
she pounds on my chest
waves crashing on me
like the rising tide
she won't let me be

she wakes me from slumber
my mind still a mess
with gleaming dew drops
from her long silk dress

I reach out for her
but she's too far away
my heart always aches
my mind goes astray

Only she is able
to quench my thirst
he fingers linger
and so does her curse

Yet a curse so sweet
she inflicts on me
Constantly laughing
flying away free...

Misty Day
Today the mist rules, stolen horizon
in a merge of sea and dank air, sky
confiscated, parcelled in a grey
patination like macular degrade.

Fields and village prematurely aged
to lie in a state of transience,
shrouded in mourning funereal garb
fashioning weighted reverend silence.

Even the rising tide treads quiet
in its take as the pacing frill
of frothed surf whispers a rhythmic lullaby
to the drowsing day beneath its blanket....

Dublin Bay Pigeons
Rat rat tat rat of archangel
wings
Puffed grey streaks buzz masts
of anchored boats
Being gently rocked to sleep by
a rising tide.

An island rises wrapped in a
cummerbund cloud
Shoulder high above a soft
dissolving mist
Raises its head to bask in a
warming kiss

A high speed ferry slips
through the mouth of the
harbor
With a cargo of fresh dreams
waking the days of famine
A solemn nod to a flag
drenched in sacrificial blood....

To Meet Him
Fire rains from the sky,
While water surges from below,
I cannot fathom why,
I was forced to bow.

In the face of this destruction,
I stare intently,
Looking for any intention,
Finding coldness in an evil sentry.

One final query,
Without an answer no doubt,
Why bring us this fury,
When we know not what it's about.

As the rising tide reaches my feet,
And the ash from the sky crests my hair,
I simply shed a tear and wait,
To meet my creator....

The Dive
I dove into myself today
And fought the rising tide
Of apathy and ignorance
That I had once denied.

I swam on through my waves of thought
And explored these depths of mind
To give my world some clarity
Among the ill-defined.

I plunged myself into the flow
And embraced the inner me:
The good, the bad, the oh so sad;
The things I’d always be.

I pushed on through the waters deep
And came out the other side
With understanding of myself
To act as my new guide....
