Stress: College Years
A space of stacked stress

And clothes on the floor

His room is a mess

And his life is a chore

Professors didn’t care

And his grades didn’t either

He sees the end there-

Oh time the deceiver!...

Premium Member Professors Secret
The professor kept his cats secret because he was a man.
He had been told that cats were women’s pets by cousin Fran.
She was completely off her rocker, as crazy as a loon.
Still he was embarrassed when I saw all of them yesterday at noon....

Limerick: Once Professors of Philosophy

Once Professors of Philosophy
Came together to solve human folly
Each defended his birth
In his school of thought’s worth
So with fisticuffs they split hairs to flee!

Division of Labor
I finished it!
I finished it!
... It is finally done!
This rosy, blue, and pink
Constipating Painting;
With a lot of focus
And support
From my own professors
And few devoted
Customers …
I deleted it
As soon as I finished it....

I Pen My Poem
I pen my poem imperfect
Impassioned, yet lacking any of the prose,
That professors preach repeatedly
But not possessed within my posts
I pretend to pass off poetry
To a populace content
And as I penetrate a bit deeper
my poem becomes palpable at best...

I posted another short story (pieces in this poetry section have to be brief).
I'm just a wordie-birdie, I suppose *shrug*

It's called "Old designs." About a dinner kicking off the 2022-23 university year.

I Have
I have a problem which practically the most brilliant professors couldn't solve. I have a ancient gem which most thief's lack to attempt to rob. I have a room with no knob, Perfect scenario, How could they turn a vanished knob? I have a computer chip in me I'm usually up for adopt.

Elves
ELVES

Skipping down the street they come -
Tomorrow’s engineers and psychiatrists,
And journeys out of this world for some,
Or professors at college if dad insists.

But for the moment they’re dressed as elves
And fairy princesses -
Quite unconscious of themselves
And their minds’ latent recesses....

Prof Guru Ghulab Khatri
Four X Four
Talented, mind blowing, stunning
Dareesh maar Khan cunning
Heroic, jolly, scene creator,
Producer, Director, chief editor
Serious, funny and vocational
Committed, concerned and educational
Flop, bottom and Top
Start, End full stop...
Note. Professors don't follow motivational speakers.
Lesson. Maps can only guide those who can read them....

Premium Member My Statue of Liberty
I once behaved. Followed all the rules. Understood what was "normal". My parents taught this, teachers demanded this, principals enforced this. Ministers expected it, society reinforced it, friends tested it, professors challenged it.
Then, poetry became my statue of liberty.

following the rules and behaving normally no longer appeals

Lyrealism
There’s not much music in poetry now,
the poets have taken an austerity vow,
thread-bare lines, no rhythm or rhyme,
con-man words, artistic pantomime?
Lyricists shunned, unless rocking a mike,
It’s not what the Professors like!
Too confused by much now written,
Like abstract art, the critics smitten
by works that display very little skill,
I'd rather view Andrew Wyeth’s hill....

Before the Candles Burn
Another workday
at the community college
    I taste the
day as it unrolls
          Students, professors walking
around
   Equations on a board
    Dull day
Bu suddenly - a flash of poetry on the internet enlightens!
   Words are so powerful
If carefully wrought
  Life can kick on down
But poetry can lift one
    into new realms of thinking
     New dawns, new loves
Poetry - peace - energy - joy!...

Premium Member Just a Thought From One Who's Taught
Professors found a haven in academia
a safe port in the storm of big business' toxemia
As meaningful as writing articles for encyclopedias
as daring as interning for social media...

So now Professor's young charges want 'safe spaces'
far away from the slug-it-out world of rat races
Let me prove my point, get down to actual cases

I Survived a Week
I survived a week..
a week in college.
This, I take as a great achievement.
I met fascinating people,
who seemed to take me in as one of their own,
professors from across the globe,
Things about me I wanted to forget,
already in the past,
as I forge a new identity...
as I learn from my mistakes,
and take a step towards my future...
I keep my fingers crossed, that the next 4 years,
will be as beautiful as the week that went by....

The Foreign Student
The Foreign Student

By Elton Camp

Ahamed’s command of English wasn’t so good
But to make a fine impression, he did all he could

He walked up to one of his professors in the hall
It was the South, so he nicely said, “Howdy y’all.”

“To be a member of your class is a great delight.
I overheard some students praise you last night.”

“They said you’re so smart, you don’t have to try.
It just comes naturally for you to be a wise guy.”...

Prayers for the Stupid
My mission for today
is to be kind to stupid people,

by which I mean, not the uneducated,
but 'woke' teachers, professors,
all self-serving experts, and miscellaneous
radical eggheads.

They need a donkey to care for,
for donkeys are smart
and like dogs
they will offer them life lessons.

If the donkey occasionally kicks them,
out of an excess of love,
then I would not laugh,

just smile, and hopefully,
not in any condescending way....

Love Pressures
When you meet some professors
of philosophy, theology
and psychology
Who are love failures
You can ask why?
So why?

When you meet some top leaders
Who lost governing networks
Because of love pressures
You can ask why ?
So why?

Loving,
Being loved,
Being rejected,
Falling in love,
Love failure,
Are  titles on some book covers
In some world libraries
Written by some love  victims.

The Heart
when the mind is taken hostage
when the priests and professors outrage
something throbs with truth deep in the heart

when what you feel is as real as the devil
when the unreal is truth because of what i feel
facts and faith frolic in the silences of the heart

love of any kind bypasses the mind
loving with all that's within is but to bypass the skin
hail organ of four mansions and never-ending art

Love the Kindness and Forgiveness In Plants
On the radio: "plants have both beauty and intelligence!" Her University professors were adamant: "If you want beauty, rather than biology, Why not transfer to art, or art history?!" Lord, do forgive our experts, professors ... Unwilling to teach as DEEPLY as C. S. Lewis, Tolkien, holocaust survivors ... And trees: unstinting with shade, space for critters, flowers, fruit, air for me! Never sulking, whining, withholding love: forgiving our poisoning spaces interminably

Premium Member Where I Stood
Immeasurable is the growth possible in being understood
An acorn takes decades to produce usable hardwood
A pupil of hard lessons am I, just as anyone else should
Professors in my life range from classroom to hood
Each of them instrumental in looking past evil for good
But none have ever fully grasped, what I've withstood
I'm human, I make mistakes just as anyone else would
I'd take them all back along with others' pain if I could
When axes swing, integrity will be left where I stood...
