Before the Candles Burn

Another workday
at the community college
    I taste the 
day as it unrolls
          Students, professors walking 
around
   Equations on a board
    Dull day 
Bu suddenly - a flash of poetry on the internet enlightens!
   Words are so powerful 
If carefully wrought
  Life can kick on down 
But poetry can lift one 
    into new realms of thinking 
     New dawns, new loves
Poetry - peace - energy - joy!

How did poetry (in your poem) bring energy? If it was from the "flash" and your mind was set aflame with ideas, how did it bring peace?
