Confidence
Unknown terrains
Preconceived notions
Perplexed mind
Wandered here and there
Like a wild monkey

With confidence .....

Stumbling stones
Became stepping stones.
Mists blown away
In sunrise....

was i just doing it
all for her in order
to please her

Premium Member Instant Dislike
Without any prejudice or known preconceived notions
I instantly disliked her
The second we met

Recognizing my own fallacies but not knowing their origin
Knowing not from whence they derived
I pretended to accept her anyway.

Thanking God later
as we became best friends
for life...

Arid Soil
Clogging intercellular space
with habits of frozen lips,
and traps of dead skin,
fine design camouflaged
in photonic crystals
refracting sun rays on fish’s scales,
solidified tears
in hail-stone milky rings
Colliding up and down
on dry bone scale
tempting to mould
the scaly topography....

Candid
So tired she thought it best
to wear her heart on her sleeves
and get things off her chest

Ignored a notion preconceived
that living like an open book
would only make her more naive

She said if they simply take another look
they'll see a clear transparency
and just maybe, let me off the hook...

Premium Member Until I Met a Blue Skin
If people could begin dyeing their skin
It could change the world.

The people seeing us coming
Would have to adjust their preconceived ideas

Until I met a blue skin
I would not know anything about blue skins,

But after I met one blue skin would that mean
I could explain them all?
Hopefully not ......

Premium Member Chosen By the White Buffalo
Earth Woman had no preconceived ideas about white buffalo calf.
Selfless, she was astounded when the beast chose her.
He followed her around like a puppy, amazing the rest of her tribe.
He is giving her strength, many said. She is fortunate.
Others were jealous, not realizing they had their own spirit animals.
The wise woman of the tribe renamed her White Buffalo Calf Woman....

Everyone In My Life
Everyone in my life before had said they'd never leave
Out of all of them you was the one I believed
Your betrayal I could never preconceived
The love we had is to be grieved
For its gone never to return the same
Who is right and who is to blame
This has become loves new game
A game with no winner or loser
We both play the role of accuser
Neither one of us perfect
But saving this marriage could be worth it...

Fiction delights Little Joy Firefly Beast
Shrugging out of preconceived notions
Verdant vines wrapping her gently forward

Imagination sashays in a sassy happy way
Excited to introduce her to ambiguity of whimsy
Orange and blue sunset flinging adjectives

Muse wakes slowly, not recognizing sixty year coffin
Enthusiasm challenges soul and mind to create
Little Joy Firefly Beast recognizing renewal and rejuvenation...

Premium Member The Deeper Reality
Beneath the busy theater,
a little trap door,
modest and illusive,
opens to a space
infinite and peaceful—
a broader dimension,
resonant and real—
the silent birthing chamber
of all possibilities,
including, by surprise,
the gears animating
the action on the set.
One may find the door
and bask in this continuum
by stepping out of character
and shrugging off one’s script,
releasing and recasting
preconceived props....

Blank Paper and Mind
Blank paper, blank mind,
How a poem should one find,
And so I started…
Waited till was frustrated,
Perhaps the paper was lined.

Tanka |03.04.2022| Tongue-in-cheek

Poet’s note: Sometimes it seems better to approach a poem with a blank mind, free from the floss of loosely woven preconceived notions. This Tanka might sound too far-fetched; but the truth is: before a vessel can be filled, it must be emptied....
