When we see ourselves
Briefly through another's eyes
Still we are jealous
For we long to be inside
What the outside world can see...

Living in my own reality

Where the outside world I see through my fantasy eyes

To be succumb to the actual coldness of reality...

Encrusted Amid Shadow
Autonomy thus selflessness,
Propagating within my independent self,
Drenching my soul with ignorance
Of wisdom, for the outside world
Is not sought…
Identifying myself, as
I encrust myself amid my shadow…...

Grounded
Just as I lost my footing
And the dirt slipped loosely
I felt my body my life tumbling backward
My arms flailing before me
And then your hand
Keeping me grounded
Into your arms
Shielded from the harm of the outside world...

Eyes on the inside

Dreaming of the outside world

Safer to be there

Than to be found wandering

On an endless inner sea.

Walls
I've built up walls, high walls.

I kept on building those until it became a castle.

A castle made up of only walls.

A castle without windows,

without doors,

without an opening to the outside world.

I am stucked and locked inside my own castle.

A desolated and cold castle....

Sometimes When I'M Silent
Sometimes when I'm silent
I really want to scream,
I'm holding hurt in,
Try hard not to show my emotions
Because if I do
I may never regain composure again.
I'm living on a knife edge,
I have to push the feelings down,
Keep them hidden
From the outside world.
I don't want pity,
I just want your love....

Stirring Within
I hold it close to me.

Both it and I warming our spirits.

Building the passion within.

Staring in trance.

Pupils widened with anticipation.

Awaiting the moment of release.

To let the angels of sound escape me.

So I may elevate the outside world.

Listening to my unexplained musical impulses....

Cold
Cold.
That's all I feel now.
No warmth.
No light to direct me on the selected path that is my fate.
My spirit is slowly losing its touch to the vast outside world.
Will I ever stop looking for a replacement light?
Will my spirit ever roam freely again?
Will the cold go away?
That absolutely unforgiving cold?...

Heed
I heard your voice
come ringing out
It came with a whisper
instead of a shout

It told me the price
of life
That I'd have to pay
So I plugged up my ears
until the outside world
went away

I didn't heed the warning
so now I struggle
every day

Maybe I'll start listening
again
When the whole world
just goes
away...

Railway Journeys
I felt as though I was inside a giant pipe,
that had seats, tables, foods, and drinks,
as it did its best to tie the world,
into some kind of a giant rubber ball.
I saw the outside world changing before my eyes,
as though the four seasons were were happening at once!
It was the best journey of my life!

Premium Member Spaces Between the Words
Reading was his sanctuary
From noise
From worry
From fear
He could curl up in the tiny spaces
Tucked between the words and pages
Of a book
Dream with the characters
Run with the plot
Imagine the illusions.

In his mind
The outside world
With its annoyances
Loud talk
Racing engines
Flying jets
Artificial deadlines
Could run without him....

Premium Member An Uncertain Rain
Shadows, remnants of lights;
tear drops of loneliness upon
a window pane of truth. The
outside world, so unblemished;
its only flaw, the window pane
we look through.

Clouds turn dark, a loud roar
as it shakes the glass. How angry
it is, how real it is. Loneliness,
when will the lightning strike?
When will the shadows not dance?...

Where All Things Go To Die
Tears flow; it knows the fear will grow

Locked in its chamber, wallowing in misery
Haunted by visions of failure
Doomed to a fate only it can see

Watching as the outside world passes by
Trapped with its reflection
Screaming it must die

Too high above to be touched by any other
Tragic creature
Never to know the actions of the lover...

One Windy Night
Here I stand
on an amber mountain
under a weeping sky
against the shouting wind,
trying to hold on
to the only channel
that connects me
to the outside world.

Where all vegetations lean
to the wind's direction,
I stand straight
trying to brave
the blows.
