Heed

I heard your voice
come ringing out
It came with a whisper
instead of a shout

It told me the price
of life
That I'd have to pay
So I plugged up my ears
until the outside world
went away

I didn't heed the warning
so now I struggle
every day

Maybe I'll start listening
again
When the whole world
just goes
away
