Moved by the passion,
of her own performance,
an everlasting act,
written on the fly,
erratic,
a tactic,
to pass the time.

Rebound
Before even one tear could dry
She caught a young man on the fly
Her fingers got wet
But that's what you get
Whenever you squeeze an hard guy!...

Chariots of fire race through the night.
Lightning bolts, Zeus on the fly.
Awe struck by wonder and might.
We thank Whom we worship on high.

Reminiscing 1
i must admit
its a bit strange to read
that bert jansch in his time
recorded an entire album
on the fly in a guitar shop

today we need at least
six square meters mixing consoles
- to hum a little tune...

Hard to land the plane when building it on the fly
Yet it’s ok to keep our head in the clouds while we try
Eventually we’ll lower our landing gear from up high
But for now keep dreaming and reinventing up in the sky...

Premium Member He's a Poet, But Doesn'T Know It
I met a man whose repartee is clever and quick.
I have to stay on my toes, for he is quite slick.
He can even write a catchy poem or two like me on the fly.
Maybe he deserves a second look, if I can just sharpen up my replies....

How Many...
How many seconds can I spare,
Without wanting you so near?

How many minutes go on by,
Writing rhymes on the fly?

How many hours can I spend,
Talking to you without end?

How many days till it's true,
So that I can kiss and hug you?...

lightning strobes hearts

suns iced crystal glare

Build them wider, taller
let us reach for the sky

when we run out of bird's
we'll clip angels on the fly

90,000 lb. sperm whale
wandering, searching for
his misplaced tail...

but elite global outlets will
never fail....only us commoners
stuck in the dark, our vehicles
needing, only one gear~ Park!...

Premium Member The Yardman
A little old lady named Judy,
Hired a yard man 'cause he was a cutie.
Soon weeds they were thriving, plants barely surviving,
'Cause he didn't know pansies from patooties.

The yard man had to say Bye Bye,
'Cause he mixed fertilizer with soap lye.
He burned up the yard, she booted him hard,
And he ran out the gate on the fly....

Carefree World
Shining on down
On fleeting waves
Carefree river
In autumn rays

There! A splash!
A duck lands
Where! But alas!
He takes off again

Leaves are tickled
A fingerless breeze
The liquid air
Flowing along

Wait! Be still!
The duck is back
Fate! And will!
Imagine that

Natures pure gold
Shimmers on high
Carefree world
Duck on the fly...

After fumbling for hours
I finally give in and read
the directions. I know, but
it is the way us writers often
do it...just sit down – and start
writing on the fly. I think
some poetry demands it...Free
Verse demands it! Progressive
Jazz demands it! Modern Art
demands it! My wife demands it –
“Read the directions!” My failed
attempt
at baking…....

Resemblance
Heavenly sculptures floating high
Define those images I try
Is that a rabbit hopping by?
Each design changing art
Imagination on the fly
Once a frog, now a heart

Fluffed up egos strut on their way
White, cottony coats turn to gray
Blue disappears to my dismay
Light to dark brewing storm
Grumpy groans follow light display
Clouds looks like one cross swarm...

Refreshing Rain
Refreshing Rain As the rain came calling it made a hissing sound You could hear it coming as it raced across the ground Everything else went silent with nothing on the fly I stood with arms wide open my faced turned toward the sky It swept so sweetly over me a tingling, cleansing feel I began to twirl and dance around my joy I could not conceal.

Old Dude Rap
Poetry ain't words dribbled out on the fly,
It's execution, prostitution of the me who am I.
lettin loose my mongoose of thought provoking, while others be chokin,
gettin all Seuss you just some cat in a hat,
Philosophies of Socrates rap your brain around dat,
Don't let dem big words confuse you, this all precludes you, from being 100, thats where you blundered.

Nature's Superdome
There is no thing I have seen like the Florida sky,
Mushroom towers build on bulging dark pillows,
when storm clouds tumble o’er birds on the fly.
Haphazardly honed and shaped by front’s bellows.
Nature daily debuted for my beauty hungry eye.

written 7/10/11
(In Florida, a short afternoon thunderstorm
in the heat of the day during Summer months
is almost a daily occurrence.)...

Dog Running Spring
How thin are master’s wishes
when he leaves the leather leash behind!
How every rutty road opens into woods
pungent with smells a human couldn’t fit
into the nooks of his narrow nose.

How slow two booted feet climb the hill
when four feathered legs can catch a cloud
on the fly. How soft the cry of master,
so far behind, lamenting that he can’t
catch April; that spring won’t bide....

Premium Member Decry the Ace
None's more a noble try
Than to pop one in on the fly

Takes deft swings to cram one in
Others glance 'em off the pin

For such a feat so grand you'd think
There'd be more in it than just a drink

Scored an Ace once, had to buy
We ran that keg really dry

When mine went in, it cleaned my purse
If it happens again I'll surely curse

Yet some denied ponder why
If I get another, I think I'll lie...

Dogs that sit on my feet,
  Are really such a treat!
  They keep me close,
  Love me well,
And send intruders straight to hell!

  The concern they have,
  Is greatly appreciated!
  Makes me feel quite liberated.
  No sound passes by,
  Without their careful eye!

Fond though they appeared to be,
Let no squirrel or rabbit saunter by,
Or else they leave me on the fly!
To squander fate on my own!...

Snow Fall
It came in on a gray sky
 snow flakes on the fly,
then as the night progressed
it found no ease or rest.

Cold winds blew in
 to silence the traffic din
and then in its giving
 the snow fell like oblivion.

A white out
 in silent shout
of winter's entry
 amidst children's assembly.

Hanging heavy on the branch
 the flurry held me entranced
and in the passing night
 accumulations filled a child's delight....
