He's a Poet, But Doesn'T Know It

I met a man whose repartee is clever and quick.
I have to stay on my toes, for he is quite slick.
He can even write a catchy poem or two like me on the fly.
Maybe he deserves a second look, if I can just sharpen up my replies.
