Refreshing Rain

Refreshing Rain

As the rain came calling
it made a hissing sound
You could hear it coming
as it raced across the ground

Everything else went silent
with nothing on the fly
I stood with arms wide open
my faced turned toward the sky

It swept so sweetly over me
a tingling, cleansing feel
I began to twirl and dance around
my joy I could not conceal.

It is nice to experience a summer shower as you describe in your wonderful poem. I can see this scene clearly in my mind and there is something magical about cool rain falling on a hot summer day. Beautifully penned my friend.

Hi there, Thank you Chris. Yes, a soft summer shower is very refreshing and I think there is a magical feel to it ... especially on a day like I wrote ..... just waiting for it to wash over me and when it does .... It's hard to explain, but kind of like I am part of it all instead of just being in it. Hoping to read you soon, you are missed :)

Oh! Lenna, I wish, if only we had rain, we don't get much where we are, mind you it has been forecast for next week but you know what forecasts are like, this is such a lovely rhyming poem you have written here, you have described it so well I can almost hear and feel it, take care.......Vera

Great descriptive write .. It can be very invigorating and don't mind a refreshing shower Lenna but I hate torrential driving rain which soaks you to the skin:-) hugs Jan xx

Thank You Jan :) You are right, I've been caught in one. it was hard to catch our breath as we ran for the house across 4 acres, it was raining so hard, but we did laugh a lot about it later :)
