Maritime Warfare
Gray ships
Docks and ports

Palm trees
And mangoes

Fresh breeze
Wide relief

A night on shore
Red lips, hot breath

Oh, no
Baby wails

Woman sits on golden land
Bundle in hand

Agony
The choice....

Premium Member Maritime Charm
On a clement February morn
There we were you and I strangers
Unaware our lives would take a turn
Your maritime charm won me over
As love effortlessly blossomed
Who’d have known we’d soon be
Celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary

Isla Mann
Island woman, nautical mystery,
Shrouded in history, over the sea,
Longing to see her, when I set sail,
Ageless, Manx goddess, she's waiting for me.

Maritime woman, always mystical,
Ancient Manx goddess, from over the sea,
Nautical distance, I will not fail,
Now that I know, she's waiting for me.

The bubble you burst is my pride of command
The trouble you cursed by the chide of my band
The fool that is me is no true folly dodger

It seems bloody retching but fatefully true
When somebody fetching is fatal for you
You flee from the danger but fractured you find

YOUR lips are the dells of the wells that I drink
The pink in the blues of the bells in my sink

Premium Member The Siren's Song
I sped around
a painted ship
the deck, all deck
where she, the song
that lured me there
does captivate
again

but as she sang
she voiced a sea
the mouth, all mouth
cried crew that ran
and heard her tune
enchanted ‘neath
the waves

my Siren calls
repeatedly
my ear, all ear
of all on board
all sailors filled
on melody’s
sea floor

Premium Member Souls Of The Seas-revised
The souls of the seas are committed to
their maritime dwell,
and the reflected tides shall bear stars
on silent waves that mourn.
I expired in sorrow's seizing of my life,
and now my grieving for humanity has
left my earthly body.
My soul journeys to my beloved Yeshua-
as the merpeople attend my seashell bier
in the summer temperate of the
vasty Atlantic's heart. ~...

Premium Member If I Had a Man Friday
If I had a Man Friday,
I would ask him to get me a sea cow.

This manatee and I would have
so much fun, and how!

We would swim in the cleanest waters.
Never taking a bath again.

We would splash and blow bubbles
I would nudge him on his chin!

We would play with a maritime band
and precariously sashay,

I guess my wishing is silly
since I don’t have a Man Friday....

I Listen To Door County Sing
I listen to Door County sing
to Death’s door, where waters meet
Green Bay, Lake Michigan and everything,
wonders of the north I greet.
I listen to fathers and their sons
the builders of ships in Sturgeon Bay,
the hulls they build so strong
and the joy when they are sent on their way.
The Maritime Museum tells the tales
of many brave young adventurers
who from the shores set sail....

Nature's Playmate
I watch my young son
Look full-faced into the rugged wind
His blond silken hair is blown about
Like spikes around his elfin-like face.

He knows nothing
Of how the wind starts
Or how it effects
His cool Maritime climate.

Only that this invisible wind
Tickles his eyes and nose,
Stirs up fallen leaves,
And challenges him to dance
- Open-armed -
Into the deep bosom of the wind....

The Lighthouse
Hails upon stormier tempestuous

sea surges, ascending, mountainous

waves crashing, splattering, appallingly

Strikes against lighthouse's sentinelling

Beam glowing, rebuffing, unremitting

High tidal's signature magnificence

To prevent maritime catastrophes

Whence before radar-scope inventiveness

The Trees Are Talking
The trees are talking,
She said, as I passed.
We listened in silence
And heard the squeaking,
As trunks rubbed together
High up in the canopy, above our heads.

“Those humans come again
Up the steep trail.
Can’t stay away from what we’ve created.
This maritime rainforest
Draws them in hoards,
Until the rains come
And the days get shorter,
When they huddle indoors,
And we can converse in silence once again!”...
