Haiku Friday 13 February 2015

we both in embrace
                                 our souls demand something more
                                             innards of silence

Egyptian Burials

Earthenware,
Gently coated with 24 karats,
Lungs, innards, entrails, liver,
The heart left untouched,
Untainted,
Egyptian burials,
Wrapped in cheesecloth.

Spicy Diet

The Tex-Mex festival was bountiful
But it scratched my innards, much like steel wool

     When the cramps began
     Oh, how fast I ran

My impersonation of Old Faithful

A Strange Liquid Diet

There's this roundish fellow named Moe Hyatt
Who's beginning a strange liquid diet
    Hyatt will only drink kegs
'No, Moe!' his poor liver begs
Then all his innards start to run riot

Betrayal

Betrayal
sprays red and distrust
all over what was once
unblemished and pure.

The stains
will never go away,
and while forgiveness
must prevail to salvage sanity—

still—
my innards whimper
and rage.

Chicken

A small chicken more like a fryer
One with all its innards
When the pack was opened
Out came two necks, three livers, two gizzards
                 No hearts?
There has got to be a poem in here somewhere____

skating upon saturn’s rings

         skating upon saturn’s rings

             endless ice cold arcs
     innards of past moons shattered
            blades reopen wounds
in my wake scars and chaos
proof ~ that I was never here

Full Moon Eclipses

The night’s full moon eclipses Greater than pumpkins A scene masterfully done Cast over their sins Jack-O-Lanterns scream From their blood thirsty innards The moon does redeem

The Empty Pea Pod: Rimbaud et Verlaine

pact fusion hath brewed
welds cauldron spewed spit fiery
sparse talents biformed renowned
oddity affair
ardent youth pose statuesque
fragile innards touch grotesque
bursts end aggression
severs espousal rapport
guilt aspires realist soars

Perplexity

Stoned Hair A Mass
Tattooed – Sullen – Spiteful
Hip – Hip – Hip
I Have never seen my face,
Except in reflection –
Narcissistic passion
Pull out my eyes
Look back at the beast,
In denial of innards
Not faith –
Where is God?

The Sea . . .

Bitterness

By all means, forget how to be bitter, For bitterness will eat your innards out Make you as unpalatable as kitty litter, And turn you into a disagreeable pout-- Destroy it … if you ever want any clout!

Toot Suite

TOOT SUITE

Alas, as hunters treed their prey
envisioning the feast
gravied meal at end of day
sopped up in breaded yeast.

An ill wind blew
and no one knew
from where it emanated

As sugar in the innards boils
and then - a little toot uncoils

Whatsapp Woes

Whatsapp Woes

I marvel at the morning dump,
Where innards churn, as a pump,
Where mighty thoughts,
Of what aught, and naught,
Get flushed into the Whatsapp sump!

A meeting spot
For thoughts to rot,
To raise a stink,
Smudge still-wet ink;
Cesspool of noxious broth!

Belly Button

Now I miss myself,
mystic unity, seeking warmth at night.
For a change not

energizing a reach out,
a task that always
felt a little foreign.

The muscles of my
innards fatigue.
I wait for long respite.

Not everyone does
what he has to do
gracefully. I balk and sputter.

Solo

Yesterday filled my cup
Tonight I go solo

Today I refill my soul
Just me and myself

Self-care is today’s business
Recharging my spent innards

Tomorrow back into the wild
Next week back to the pile

Never alone with faith
Just me and my God

I need today to face tomorrow
Future requires loving the present

Gone

The old church sits
Squalid in its agony
Bitten by the earth

The air groans

The gates swung wide
Her innards raped
Gutted by vultures

Still darkness falls from the sky

It is a Murk,
A cancerous toxin
Spreading into the roots

The old world rises

Where survival rules
None are free
No miracle comes from ruin

The decay lurches on

Letting Others In

Battle scar from spider bite
Shame from things done wrong
Freckled with regrets

Nothing secretive or hidden
I am as open as a flower
Showing my innards

Memories other have long forgotten
I hang on to forever
Reliving my despair and my sorrow

No secrets
I spill it all out onto the parkway
letting others dance in my truth

Virulent

Love such as this is virulent.
Caustic and toxic, this love burns my innards.
I burn for you.
I need no antidote.
This love is worth the pain.
Your venomous tongue lashes me.
Words cannot hurt me now.
Your eyes petrify me, Medusa.
But my advances will not be halted.
I need my venomous fix.
My blood boils,
Ready for your poison to contaminate.

for most purposes it is dead

an old piano
child size
lays in the garbage heap
its body broken
its innards hanging out
on the frame
like the ribs of a skeleton broken into pieces
its ivory keys are separated and cover the ground
its poor, in bad condition and cheap
 to many not worth repairing
for most purposes it is dead
only to be remembered by few who knew and loved
