lying
on my side in bed
looking out
at the window
the window looks back
through me
to the bed
and snuggles next to me
sitting there
with my popcorn
I watched
my life
flash before me.
Can’t wait
for the sequel.

I have made plenty a mistake
As my life went from bad to worse,
But those mistakes I can't unmake
Unless I live life in reverse.
Twelve rain frogs out of tune croak
Not a winning number sung
Prelude to copulation
No sweet dreams all night
an inward battle
anxiety leads to stress
then acid reflux

Written for a Contest, Haiku 102
The last time
I took
a photograph
Instamatics
were in flower
No one
could get over
the expression
on my index finger
If only I had but a clue,
Then surely, I'd know what to do.
With life's mystery gone,
I'd settle upon
Some course that I can't now construe.
Love your neighbor is what they say
I've been hearing it quite a lot
That could be an idea that's good
Just be sure that you don't get caught!
I once knew a trucker unmated
Often, he’d become quite frustrated
Known to be lazy
Flies drove him crazy
Their survival skills are underrated

It’s too long for the poetry section.
Places, places, Act II scene 3, take 437, lights, camera……ACTION.

Life's one big practical joke.
I'm standing on top of the world.
Laughter gets me through anything.

While aid to stop him may expire
Vlad's drooling for space to acquire
His lust to expand
Brings rust to fertile land
To this dictators aspire
You might trip if caught in a flap
Or with your foot stuck in a strap
When flooring's criss-crossed
With bras she has tossed
You will need a booby-trap map
Those days, pray
before wake up.
These days, cellphone
before wake up
Before, love letter
to court a lady
Now, just text
and have a baby.
The med staff may hear my voice squeak
Where they insert tubes we won’t speak
Since this causes pain
I wish they’d refrain
Or try going straight not oblique
Encountering the Spectre of Death,
She told it to hold its bad breath.
"I shall be leaving,"
The spectre said grieving,
"You shan't share my company, Beth."
leapt out of bed
groggy head spins
spouse said hurry!

He was named Joseph Steven McBride
He never had any fun it can’t be denied.
His life was all glum
Of joy he had none.
Since he never lived, he still hasn’t died.
They say laughter is the best medicine
I do believe this to be so
My life is abundant with so many funny people
Life expectancy a hundred years….this l know!
A storm blew over, brightening
the town with fast, white, lightening.
Their weatherman was wrong
the “clear skies” were gone.
All in all, it was quite frightening.
"You know you can't just assume
that people are like you
and take them to places
that you want to go.
No one else wants
to go birding.
You are ruining
my life."

There once was a knight from Rocket town
Who lured and let his amour men down
But on a night not too young
Nemesis caught up with Doung
When his archers incursed Little town.
