Of Dark Fears
You come back to perch on me
As if a friendly company
You dark shadow of my fears
Wherever I leave your remains
You're an undying, homing pidgeon...

Which is it, a pigeon or dove?
We hate one; the other, we love.
Your clean car, that blob?
'Twas likely a squab,
opined likewise of you, thereof.

Elation-
taking the long way
Grandma with her stick and me
ankle deep cold creek

homing pigeons rise
circling evening skies
fledgling blue-bars in training

blackberry stained lips
sipping hot sassafras tea
fireflies welcome home...

Night
Like a thick water,the night
Fills my cup,
And I must drink it all
Till it overflows in my soul
Oh my love..

Like a wayward spider,the night
Crawls into my skin
Like a homing spider,the night
Weaves a web within..
Oh my love.....

Premium Member Its Holiday
bent over
the fire
stokes
the logs
aflame
it’s holiday
the brink
of passion
the flash
the flicker
of hearth
and home
homing in
the pigeon
lands
with message
in its claws
hello
the chimney whispers
it’s holiday
the smoke rises
simmers

Dream Scapes
Sometimes to your surprise you
find yourself in a landscape, or city-

scape you've created in a former dream.
You've been here before, there a sense

of deja vu, but it's a new script the night
world brings. You are like a homing

pigeon who only knows the way
through his wings....

Conversation
There was no end
to looking inside.
I was crumbling.

Unnamed homing in
of anguish,
not knowing me.

The wasted questions
of revival.
A depleted dawn of a failed sun ?

A river war
between two hills
for a moon ?

Time to ask
motor neurons,
why night had failed at ending ?

Everybody assumes

you like dogs

especially their dog

sprung from its tether

breaking for you

this morning

all a-scud over the gravel

propelled by yeasty, toothy

gushing grins

homing in on you over there

	fossilized, frozen by

	by the dumpster’s Gape,

	one less

	cat person

the world won’t miss....

As a child
I liked how its life
fitted so well within
my clasped hands,
the feel
of its smooth head,
the silky
one way fall
of feathers down
to a turquoise collar,
its tight form
loaded like
a coiled spring
beneath all that softness,
gathered ready to launch
and lift with wings,
letting it go
and most of all,
its coming back....

Setting Sun 1
Setting sun

Splash of burgundy paan-spit
and the paterfamilias nodding off

pink filial freeness
silhouetted against a crimson feel- flare
(or was it orange flair or even purple fair)

symbiotic exchanges
slapstick sequences

elfin hemlines and tarty décolletages
catching agoraphobic impulses
homing…

Winter
winter dawn
a patch of clouds
blossom a bare tree

holding on
with what she left behind
winter moon

winter rain
the urge to feel
the newborn

full moon
winter’s stillness
in a soap bubble

uphill walking
she takes me into
winter clouds

winter deepens . . .
lungi shivering on
the beggar's face

on the rock . . .
the descent of water ends
winter's loneliness

winter twilight
homing mynahs
over my backstroke...

Fragile Hearts
Fantastically fickle
Rarely enduring -- ever ephemeral,
Adamantly flexible and footloose
Gregarious, vivacious and effervescent
Irresistible, insuppressible and indestructible,
Love is all that and more…
Ever needed, ever elusive;

Homing in on fragile hearts, love
Erupts into a rousing passion and
Amplifies raw emotions
Rallying those faint at heart
To overcome an insurmountable
Sisyphean task.

Demons Within
In darkness gazing at the light
homing in on who I really am,
deep in the shadow a reflection
of the lonely man I have become;

in the void again discovering
images not worth remembering,
under its veil emerging demons
over whose power I had not won;

finding no peace vainly pretending
that all is well with this life I'm in,
laughing it seems yet really crying,
pain surely coursing inside the brain....

He Takes Your Hand
12 sept 2014 10:49 pm

In His hand is your hand and everything is known.
Memories like homing doves gather at His thrown.

Heralds read the message clear not one word is missed by His ear.
Then through His mind into His heart your moment is forever there.

Fear not the trials of the bodies life.
You the soul is eternal and part of His light.

Christ is your Lord, and by His grace you are His.
You dear soul are well and with Him forever lives....

Premium Member Always On a Mission Stew
When Stew was on a mission there was no stopping him.
Believe me, he would intensely do what he was going to do.
He collected for the Door of Faith mission with zeal and vim.
He released a hundred homing pigeons, and each one flew.

He was like a bullet train when he got an idea in mind.
I am telling the truth, trying to not be uncaring or unkind.
Stew also gets weird ideas and bakes six hundred pizza pies.
Then gets angry with them days later when they have collected flies....

Untitled
I love the way you lay hands on me.
Soft, gentle, careful kind but not like
I'm breakable no, more like I'm valuable.
I feel something like a precious stone in
your soft jewelers palms.

I cherish the heat that rises from
your body
That 98.6 degrees of you, the sound
of your heart is my homing signal.
That steady strong thrumming keeps more than you alive.

I love you like a shape shifter,
Id transform for you.
I'd become anything so you could carry me with you always....
