Wouldn’t it be cool if
toothbrush holders reared
livestock and
crops on
farms.

Your Flushed
The balance will never go down
Account holders shall only frown
Visa and Master
Card decks fill with laughter
While consumers toil as the clown
Author's note: The rates they charge and the time it takes to pay off revolving credit ensnares the naive and the desperate. It is part of a plan....

The Ballad of Sam Walton
People go out,
people go in.
Money they earn,
money they spend.
Buggies are filled,
registers ring.
Wallets are drained,
Walton's they sing.
Prices go up,
wages go down.
Holders wear smiles,
workers wear frowns.
New store, new town.
Mom and Pop shop,
have to shut down....

Waiting For the Wise Men
Waiting for the Wise Men
worried
holders of power
use their wile
their walls and wire to
separate and discourage..
we are waiting
each of us..to
waken as wise..
and to know that
wile and wall and wire
cannot separate
the knowing of grace
which when known
lights another
path home......

Dramatic Monologue
Words Like a Fool's Golden Dream
If pretty words are just
A fool's golden dream,
Then I am quite
Contentedly ignorant...
Perhaps poets will
Never be the holders
Of the world's wealth,
But at least they may
Forever be the beholders
Of its richness-
Besides, it's said that
God protects fools,
So at least I still
Retain the right
To feel blessed....

Queen of the Grudge Holders
She is the best grudge holder I have ever met.
I must give her the crown for longest stamina for a grudge.
It is a rare person who would take satisfaction from this title.
She is one who not only likes it but thrives in it.
Reveling in her pouty ways, scaring off suitors and family.
I would ask her friends if this behavior affects them
But there aren’t any…....

More Babies
With a smile as nice as yours..
there really should be two.
You favor your mother as I,
maybe we could try,
making it an even three?
Let's make more babies my dear..
Please, oh please,
say yes!
Fill the world with laughter..
drown out the world's tears,
while we
while away the years.
Your shoulder to mine..
hand holders in love,
til the very end,
of time....

The Debtor Card
those in charge hope,
plan for a cashless society
that they may more easily mold
their consumers variety
nations of debtors
card holders
vying and crying
for possessions
taxes and prices sliding
proportional to income
with no way out
then things fixed
the cashshelless society
no cash savings
no piggy bank
just card-dollar stores
what ! (excuse my language)...

Cat Goddess
Twice blessed,
twice graced,
by the Goddess Bast
caste in adoration.
Twin orbs, phosphorescent eyes
space holders for the setting sun
both bathed in milk white moonlight
temple guardians, night slayers.
Twice blessed,
thrice graced,
by felines two
in this place of creation.
Trinity of trinities infinities sign,
feline guardians mark the time,
in this space of creation....

Finding Their Use
When I grabbed for the pot-holder,
To remove my ready dinner,
I remembered Mama's apron
And her pies, each one a winner.
I would wait with expectation
As she buried them with such care
In the folds of her big apron,
Knowing there was such treasure there.
I looked around for an apron
As the timer began to ring,
My Mama's gone, apron with her.
Pot-holders now are the only thing....

Power
A force greater than
And stronger than hurricane
Given to wise and fool alike
But thou are a test of wisdom
Thou expose capability ‘n’ possibility
To your holders, making them lords
Something that commands science
It makes a god of a man
Let us charge power positively
And make ourselves equal
Thou not equally
At least not to meager
For the value of power
Is in its positive dispensation...

I Would like two of those
I would like two of those I told the lady of the house.
I was staring at her two mushroom plant holders.
I can pay whatever you want, I told her.
I could tell that she was pleased.
I made them myself, she informed me.
But I am saving them for my children, she acknowledged.
I knew her children pretty well.
I waited for my chance.
After her death I bought them for a quarter apiece
At their garage sale...

Time for Tablets for Time
Those small drug holders!
They have numbers on them.
They reminded you when to take four pills:
one at breakfast time,
one at lunchtime,
one at dinnertime,
one when it's the hour for bed.
Those small drug holders!
Are those numbers fading?
They try to remind you what the time is,
when to have some breakfast,
when to eat your lunch,
when to consume some dinner,
when the hour for bed has arrived.

These Boys, Now Men
These Boys, Now Men **
They died with pride on a numbered
hillside for they were Marines.
These boys, now soldiers,
taught not meek hand-holders,
taught how to fight
growing up overnight,
these boys, now men.
In a pointless strife
giving up life
these boys, now men.
What is now, what was then,
Heroes, all of them.

The Diary
Life is similar to reading a diary
Some things that was so big and prodigious at that time
Are so insignificant now in our minds
We can look back on the pages of our lives
While we’re living
And give thanksgiving
That we’re not stuck in yesterday or yesteryear
And celebrate today with cheer
As we grow older
We’re no longer worrier holders
For we know, that this too shall pass
While living with patience and class
Knowing that there’s no impasse...

Social Media Scapegoat
Social Media, a much maligned platform
Neither incites nor recites cretin creeds to form and inform
Cultures and futures steeped in heaps of disorder
Which account holders in their folders call to order
To invent and reinvent possibilities so vile
They invite unfair criticism and cynicism imbued with bile.
Account holders on social media bear their fair share of responsibility
For actions and distractions they inject and project into social media versatility....

The Nocturnal Navigator
While fairly close to half asleep
I sensed a pounce and then a leap.
There was the very slightest trace
Of whiskers brushing near my face.
I heard a glass begin to totter
A glass half full of cool tap water.
Papers rustled, pill holders clicked
That nothing fell was quite a trick.
The creator of this minor stir
Erupted with a thunderous purr.
My nightstand now became the place
For a cat who stalks with endless grace.....

1 a Dog
1 A Dog
There was a small black dog
He lived in Red China
Just a normal dog
No different from the rest
But he became notorious
Due to his fate
Before then he was fun loving
And loved to run and play
Being a street dog by the market
He was well know and fed
The stall holders gave him food
So he never starved
He slept under the stalls
And was stroked regularly
The locals saw him as a friend
Many looked for him
Each day part of the scenery
This was until he disappeared...
