Besides, it's said that

She is the best grudge holder I have ever met.
I must give her the crown for longest stamina for a grudge.
It is a rare person who would take satisfaction from this title.
She is one who not only likes it but thrives in it.
Reveling in her pouty ways, scaring off suitors and family.
I would ask her friends if this behavior affects them

When I grabbed for the pot-holder,
To remove my ready dinner,
I remembered Mama's apron
And her pies, each one a winner.

I would wait with expectation
As  she buried them with such care
In the folds of her big apron,
Knowing there was such treasure there.

I looked around for an apron
As the timer began to ring,
My Mama's gone, apron with her.
Pot-holders now are the only thing....

I was staring at her two mushroom plant holders.

I could tell that she was pleased.

I made them myself, she informed me. 
But I am saving them for my children, she acknowledged.

I knew her children pretty well.

After her death I bought them for a quarter apiece

They have numbers on them.
They reminded you when to take four pills:
one at breakfast time,
one at lunchtime,
one at dinnertime,
one when it's the hour for bed.

Those small drug holders!
Are those numbers fading?
They try to remind you what the time is,
when to have some breakfast,
when to eat your lunch,
when to consume some dinner,
when the hour for bed has arrived.

These Boys, Now Men **
They died with pride on a numbered 
hillside for they were Marines.
These boys, now soldiers,
taught not meek hand-holders,
taught how to fight
growing up overnight,
these boys, now men.
In a pointless strife
giving up life
these boys, now men.
What is now, what was then,
Heroes, all of them.

    I sensed a pounce and then a leap.
    There was the very slightest trace
    Of whiskers brushing near my face. 

    I heard a glass begin to totter
    A glass half full of cool tap water.
    Papers rustled, pill holders clicked
    That nothing fell was quite a trick.

    The creator of this minor stir
    Erupted with a thunderous purr.
    My nightstand now became the place
    For a cat who stalks with endless grace.....

1 A Dog 
There was a small black dog
He lived in Red China
Just a normal dog
No different from the rest
But he became notorious
Due to his fate
Before then he was fun loving
And loved to run and play
Being a street dog by the market
He was well know and fed
The stall holders gave him food
So he never starved
He slept under the stalls
And was stroked regularly
The locals saw him as a friend
Many looked for him 
Each day part of the scenery
This was until he disappeared...
