Oh My God
I Swear
I Didn't

Like That.

How Do You Do That?

Gotcha

The wheel chair flew by like a gun
Which left me standing quite stunned
The crippled old goat
Grabbed my camo coat
He can hide but he sure cant run

Gotcha

I never thought that I would fall
for that one prank telephone call,
I ran around my yard -
no hidden grand prize card...
not the next millionaire at all!

Bang, Bang - Gotcha

Cops and robbers, we used to play
Our default way to pass the day

We'd trade off, so we'd not get too bored
Not enough excitement, too little reward

Terrified I cowered deep in closet.
He was coming.
My panic increased with each passing second.

The door opened!!
His words became audible.
"Gotcha!"

"Perfume!"
"A DEAD give away."

Jacta Alea Est

Jacta Alea Est

By Gary L Thomas

A box with six sides
And pips on each
Taunts me to action
Don't want to crap-out now.
\But it's way too late for ponderance.
The bottle's been uncorked
The brew lies in my belly beaming:
Gotcha' again.

Naughty Or Nice

What if Santa snuck up on you?
Leaned in and whispered, I ‘Gotcha’
Look at you, ducking and dodging
All year round he has been watching
Shorten that list sonny, to only a few!

Coffee Cuppa

Dawn comes around
Drowsy eyes ground

Blurry new strain
Espresso gain

Stride now sleepy
Gaze now blurry

Misty cold rain
Monsoon spreads plain

Slow movement yokes
Dreamy form strokes

Abrupt this light
Dash drowsy sight

Now brew gotcha
Coffee cuppa

April 1

Today was April Fool’s Day,
reminding me
of lighter times.

While listening to the news this morning,
I yearned for the traditional,
“Gotcha, April Fool.”

But all I heard,
reflected an unforeseen truth
from an unseen enemy.

No prank
or white lie could I detect,
from unsmiling faces.

The April Fool remained hidden
in pandemic’s shadow.

GOTCHA

"Tingly skies full of surprise oh how I love when with surmise, the little rascal aims his dart as if it were, poetic art!" When I am hit by this cute cupid's arrow, I find myself writing about love and romance. I will never fight it, I must enjoy this feeling and write on. When cupid's arrow aims for you, there isn't much that you can do!

I Cried

I stood in the kitchen on yesterday,
And cried, and cried, and cried.
Everyone came into the room and
Began to wipe their eyes.
I continued to do the task that
I was commissioned to do.
I cried, and cried, and cried some more-
From all the onion juice.

Gotcha….thought I had another sad experience?
Chopping onions for the dressing. We feed
The homeless on yesterday and gave out gift baskets.
An Awesome Experience.

Sidewalk Sonnet

Mom's back a crack to caulk
can't knock it in, until it's knocked
them dogs on down the sidewalk
keep on goin', no time for thought

there's rhymes to run
there's cadences to call
there's favors to sun
there's lawns to sprawl

Molly cries aloud the rules
jump a crack 'n' chalk a skip
sneakered hot dogs leap to cool
verses to holler 'n' cracks to trip

ya gotcha hopscotch, ya gotcha 'hood
sidewalk's gotcha a playin' mood good

GOTCHA!

Tingly skies full of surprise oh how I love when with surmise,
the little rascal aims his dart as if it were, poetic art!
What a surprise, with little doe eyes,
the puffy little critter did steal my heart.
With fluffy white and orange fur, he started to purr,
and there went what's left of my heart.
With love that is true, I did start to coo,
"Oh, Darling, I must go to my home with you."
When cupid's arrow aims for you, there isn't much that you can do!

Candle

I have a night for you
With candle blue
And a piece of moon
The room is clean
Everything smell like sweet kisses
Like always
Like all ways
Don’t miss it babe
It is our dream anniversary

I have a night for you
With long touch
And shadow smile
I will please you
A million pleases
Screaming
Ice scream
Hmm… Gotcha babe
Turn off the light
Turn on your senses
Be in the mood
Take photos
Build a song
Feel it?
We’ve made it
Oh! God don’t want it to be over.

Gotcha

The orange juice was being sold
At quite a nifty price.
I bought a few containers,
Feeling proud, not thinking twice.

But something made me double-check,
Since looks would not suffice,
And that is when I noticed
What I don’t think’s very nice.

Each orange juice container,
Looking normal, to entice,
Was a bunch of ounces smaller,
So I offer this advice:

When a bargain is presented,
You can always roll the dice,
But from corporate America,
There’ll be no sacrifice.
