a sparkling glazed sheen
sunshine on my windowpane
noonday blooms below
goldfinch bush and tree
are awash in dazzling light
as pale sunbeams dance
blooming and bobbing
flower power head turner~
feasting goldfinches
I passed a dancing sunflower on my walk today,
out sprang a goldfinch.

a goldfinch feather —
the black and yellow foundling
carried by the wind
plucked from a waning winglet
lad grips flight in his fingers

Optimistic American goldfinch
Perched on the end of the branch
Enjoying a bit of loving rain
Glad the skies finally gave him the bath he needed
Things are looking up
outside my window
life stirs the hot summer breeze....
one male goldfinch lands
to eat fern leaf fennel seed
like my love who lands for meals
outside the window
male goldfinch eats fennel seeds....
drinks birdbath water
think~ husband likes coffeemate
we're out, jot on grocery list
a Goldfinch hoping
along an old weathered fence
pear tree blossoms
early afternoon
green woodpecker in field
hidden by wet grass
a small garden pond
hundreds of tiny tadpoles
wriggling at the edge
A goldfinch
stared at me
in all his
yellow,
fleeting
perfection
The stronger
evergreen
anchors your feet,
my darling,
as you look down
above little me
Sing and stand
beautifully.
Pink carnation clouds
blue tuxedo horizon
goldfinch and windchime.
Tree dancer and silver leaf
porch swinging memories
angel hair and honeybee.
On a day such as this, passing away would be a breeze.
warm morning sunlight
greeted by goldfinch chorus ~
spring festivity

Goldfinch pair visit
birdbath seeking cool water....
water way too deep
male Goldfinch inches
down Willow Tree limb to bath...
fear enters halts plan
male Nuthatcher drinks
water from swallow birdbath...
Goldfinch pair learn fast
A flash of light like a bulb, came into sight
Shining outside my window, with a flash
The evolving view was bright and beautiful
I stood still and watched with happiness
The Goldfinch took flight, flapping to my heartbeat

a lone goldfinch sings
chirping away before dawn~
sunny melody
outside my window
a robin sings to the finch~
morning serenade
a blue jay squawks loud
waking up the neighborhood~
cat clowder begins

a garden party
a flower celebration
goldfinch gathering
the shadows are gone
warm sun is touching the ground
butterflies drifting
all birds are singing
blooms and trees dance to the sound
cobalt skies grass green
the bees are humming
and feasting on red berries
color movement joy
Bull-black boots
stamping
like beating skin-tight drums
steel capped
with arched hands
clanking castanets
with crimson coronations
like a goldfinch neck
A guitar's fevered fret
crescendos
a rite of spring
kicking dust from bloodied boots
stomps off the romany's yoke
Visitor chirps in the garden at daybreak.
Beautiful bird hanging upside down to feed;
pecking at thistle seeds on a bird feeder....
the charming goldfinch

How cheerfully the goldfinch sings
At rest from undulating flight,
A bar of gold on charcoal wings
And crown of scarlet, black and white.
I love to hear his cheerful trill
As tasty teasel seeds he spies.
With long fine beak he takes his fill
Then off on gold-tipped wings he flies.

Mud season
yucky mucky
Hummingbird in flight
zig jig
A flock of robins
swinging singing
New grass
sprout shout
Flying butterfly
flutter putter
Chipmunks at feeders
seed greed
Lilac trees
blooms perfumes
A bright goldfinch
yellow fellow
Tree branches
twig sprig
Golden brooch on a red silk robe
The goldfinch sits in a rose meadow
In the shamrock, azure, carmine land
She comes to mourn a loved one’s death
Amid beauty of the peerless form
A dreadful dead march is sung.
Meanwhile, the rose bud grows into bloom
The twilight sky is an ever-changing hue.

Santa was a bird watcher
Until they turned his own ideas on him
Now they are flying in to investigate
To ask him questions.
Robins, wrens, sparrows,
Cardinals, blue jay, goldfinch.
Questions upon questions.
What is Mrs. Claus’ favorite dessert?
What is her favorite perfume?
Who is her favorite musician?
What bands does she listen to?
Santa wished he knew the answers.
July evening sun was setting, red and yellow,
Upon the beautiful skies, like the sun's echo!
Goldfinch was singing, in a sweet rapid tempo,
As red carnations bloomed, like a day in retro.
The skies were wine, when moon began to shine,
And purple finch sang, a song to his valentine,
In the evening's calm, in fragrant lilac times,
A world turned surreal, with rumors of divine.
