softly shimmering

as cool breeze strokes still lake

reflections of weeping willows

swallows swooping, gnats darting, fish leaping

creating glistening ripples

Mozzies, midgies, gnat attacks
On my blood they want to snack.
Silent, deadly, in they crept
Quenching their hunger as I slept.
Ugly, red, lumps and bumps
Itching, scratching; I've got the hump.
They transformed me into Quasimodo
Only time I've ever taken a selfie photo.
Evening time is my worse nightmare

Attracting flying critters

Or will be, if you left the house,
Returning in the dark
And hoping not to trip between
Your door and where you'd park.

Swarming 'round your head,
