Spring Hath Sprung

Pollen permeates your nose and lung All you can smell is farmers' dung The gnats and flies Flock to your eyes As wasps and bees swarm 'till your stung!

Spring is a time people anticipate with jubilant expectations especially in winter ! You have doused the spirit of spring.... Is it that your mind has become frozen? :)

The joy of spring depends upon where you are, e.g., downwind of honeybuckets in Germany, beseiged by aphids or "thunderflies" in England, etc., but a late freeze does sometimes enhance Spring . . . .Aloha!

Hi Rico, Until this day, I'm a bit cautious of bees; I have frightening stories of people who have gotten stung by a bee-Alexis

Well, we've read many poems about the joys of spring, so I guess we needed one like this to balance our perspective on the season. Pollen has been awful here! There are no farms nearby, but wasps and bees seem to love my yard. Ugh. Great limerick, my friend!

Hello Rico … spring verses are always positive until now. You have written the other side of what spring provides and it is very true indeed - thanks Rico - Lindsay

As you know, many Soupers write about things they know very little about, so a reality check becomes necessary. Thank you for reading and commenting! Aloha! Rico

I've managed to get through life without being stung, but I've definitely smelled the dung and seen the flies lol:-) hugs Jan xx

Spring is less noticeable in the Big Apple, but certainly lifts spirits! Aloha! Rico

I liked your limerick a lot, Rico. So true for those who live in farm country.
