Haiku 12 - Bird

the cold north wind blows
birds dash into the darkness…
no light in winter.

zebra finch on tree
chirping midst perfumed blossoms:
children adore birds.

Gold Finch Had Gone

Gold Finch Had Gone

What we did was find ourselves flinch,
When we had smelled all of the stench;
All so terrible,
And unbearable;
Gold finch had gone all over the bench.

But Her Bruises Were Green

There was once a hot cutie named Finch
Who was quite a flirtatious young minx
On St Pat's she shunned green
  And dressed quite libertine
With ambitions of getting a pinch

What A Free Finch

No Name
What a finch I saw.
Many colors for a small bod.
Lovely bod in that bud.
Around her or his
What?
You name it.
He or she
I do not know.
It has no name
No Ids
No papers
No and
No ..
What a free finch!

Loving the Lion

Cold
weather
will not kill
the queen- yellow
lion feed the bee.
Survival rides upon
the wind, the child's breath scatters
seed. Gold finch come, a banquet set
feast before summer 's demise. Love the
lion and her seed, love the yellow weed.

Fidelity

Lemon brightness in my eyes

to warmer climes in winter he flies

it’s in his nature to choose his wife

instinctively choosing to mate for life

fidelity causes some men to flinch

they could learn a thing or two from

Pleating the Coms

Finch trembles in a golden spray
Grading the ant
Oh door less oak squeals
Never platitudes
suit you like a T
Cradles inflected tease and ones
King of the row boat
The S so lowly
Infectious scars legally
mellow in my marshes
Sea is loud
As the sun arose

Fresh Morning Melodies

a lone goldfinch sings
chirping away before dawn~
sunny melody

outside my window
a robin sings to the finch~
morning serenade

a blue jay squawks loud
waking up the neighborhood~
cat clowder begins

Lush

Rhododendron poof and purple fumes fill my world Lavish, rich nature. Maroon like the dawn of days greeting the sun's honey glaze. Saffron finch descends to join the elegant crowd vast and varying in colors of the rainbow that keep me at the window.

Caged Rainbow

A Northern Australian waterhole;
here a trapper finds his goal.
One finch to surely catch my sight
are Gouldian’s with colours bright.
Blacks, blues and greens; a purple breast.
Yellow with white below the vest.
What shame I own wanting to show -
that I had caged a living rainbow.

The Coming View

This morning, frost has sunshine inside it,
light shimmy’s, and the mud has a hint
of lime Jell-O.

Time to wait upon the lark and finch
until their songs arrive.

What we see changes its opinion,
only to reappear as a green revival.

On a far mountain
falling snow melts in mid-air.

Kansas In Summer

self-confident sunflowers
glorified next to a weathered fence
Kansas in summer

gold finch lights
taking a breath
warbles a heartfelt song

wild flowers sway to his trill
tractor sounds in the distance
meadow dances

plowed field begs for rain
fox stops by briefly
Kansas in summer

Feverishly Frenzied Floozy and Frazzled French Flamingos

Feverish flowery flippant freakish fantailed floozy who needed grounding
Flimflammed, flashed, flipped and flinched a fabulous frugal foundling
Fortuitous flexible frazzled French flamingos flash-mobbed a fernlike finch
On Friinge of this freakish failed flopped frenzy, I received a friendly pinch.

Watching From My Kitchen Window-Jq

Red robin searches for worms
Goldfinches out in the storm
Hummingbirds flutter about
A red squirrel chirps and spouts

Worms near wet feathers of red
Storm drops on hummingbird's head
About, a finch lands on seed
Spouts from red squirrels with greed
