Caged Rainbow

A Northern Australian waterhole; here a trapper finds his goal. One finch to surely catch my sight are Gouldian’s with colours bright. Blacks, blues and greens; a purple breast. Yellow with white below the vest. What shame I own wanting to show - that I had caged a living rainbow.

Hello Indiana … with your few words, you obviously have a love of nature and the inhabitants we share this world with - thank you Indiana - Lindsay

A sensitive perspective only an outdoors-man turned poet, like Lindsay Laurie, could bring to life. Expert penning, my friend! :) gw

Hello Gershon … there's deep concern all over the world that the natural world and it's inhabitants are disappearing at an alarming rate, and the Gouldian Finch (my avatar) is just one species - thank you Gershon - Lindsay

And thus the pet trade flourished, and beauty became extinct. God's Master Plan remains a mystery! Aloha! Rico

G'day Rico … last I read; only 2,500 still in the wild. Many thousands in captivity. A bloody shame - thanks Rico - Lindsay
