To a place, a point
To nowhere, a journey
To this heaven, with no

Smooth,sleek,mellow, not weak
Gray,distinguished, own persona

A
crackle
of dead wood-
an unfinished
book,
as
driftwood
on the strand,
beginnings no
end-
in
timeless
tedium
of paralysed
thought
driftwood--
someday again
another shoreline
There was once a young man who stood.
He said, "See the great parenthood!"
It was quite great,
But not coordinate,
He couldn't say no to the driftwood.

Sunbathing, swimming, strolling
Pebbles, seaweed, seashells, driftwood

Just lay there in the sun
The colors lovingly fade
From slate, to white to coal
Rest there, listen to the waves

adorned by coquina shells
and bits of seaweed,
remains of the storm's high tides --
a hurricane rage décor.

Along comes thoughtless driftwood;
lighter than a feather, yet as strong as the river
it came from. Magickal & smooth,
Carved from the endless current.
Just like bones & blood.

pretty seashells found
porpoises playing
flocks of gulls in formation
whitecaps rolling in
pieces of driftwood
dunes replete with palmetto
footprints in the sand

City lights are diamantes
On a black-sand beach
The bonfire is a driftwood woman
With shattered bones and teeth
We are a
Clan
That sends gunpowder to the sea
Fireworks are water globes
That implode
Just out of reach
Phantoms eerie,
burned and blackened
arms upraised in supplication
bent and broken, beckoning.
Driftwood garbed they testify
in shrouded mist, in foggy sky
Woodland graveyard, petrified
Silent screams
assault the senses
“Who says fire cleanses”
You were a remnant
from the hurricane,
blowing into my life
suddenly,
like a refugee
on storm~tossed
waves of destruction.
Flooding my life
with category five
winds of desire,
leaving me wrecked,
naked and bare,
like old driftwood
on the beach of despair.
If the sea becomes angry, head for land.
Sleep under a trampoline and driftwood hut.
Want becomes meaningless; paramount is need.
The North Star keeps the blackening sky aloft.
Gale force and rogues are on their night walk about.
God and sleep cannot come soon enough.
I drowned in the ocean of tranquilly
I was like driftwood
turning deeply in the empathic sea
My orbs
became my listening device
soft mud preserved my rib cage

I sojourn meekly
anointing the hereafter
hungry like Lazarus
with my long knows

blown by a soft sea breeze
pelleted our feet
as we ran
to the foaming surf
gulls drifted overhead
red sun slowly sank
heart with arrow
and our initials
drawn in the sand
driftwood fire
embers floated
to kiss the sky
wine, smiles
embrace, love
