After the Storm

Driftwood on white sand,
adorned by coquina shells
and bits of seaweed,
remains of the storm's high tides --
a hurricane rage décor.

great use of sounds to describe this scene. i love "a hurricane rage decor", as if the destruction from irene was decorative, beauty in chaos. good luck in the contest :)

I can hear those gulls so plain, those unconcerned gulls. Like the ending to Moby Dick - "And the great shroud of the sea"...something like that. Love, daver
