The mouse ran up the clock.
The clock struck nine,
It was past the deadline!
He missed an interview,
the job fell through.
He fell sadly to his knees,
no paycheck – no cheese.
Love abounds in nature's relentless calm.
Lovers rapture to heights unknown,
Where foliage blanket below the heaven in prime.

Coming up on deadline,
with the sun
chasing me down,
I sit idle
surrounded by toys.
It's my fault
but the summer is harsh.
Bits of sparkly stuff
flick through the hours.
I smile as I pass them
and my arms
swing into action.
The rest of it is
pressured sleep.
About 10 years, that’s all we’ve got.
With all the pollution, the world’s getting hot.
Non believers will say we’re fine.
But there’s no turning back, after the deadline.
Climate change is real, that I know.
We need to help the Earth, or we’ll have to go.
I caught the disease before the deadline
before my mid-life crisis

I’ll force myself to find my passion, and I’ll be great at it,

and it will be entirely willpower
