The Rat Race

Angst
        Pressure
     Tension Builds
  Nerves Tautly Wound
Stomach's Knot Tightens
   Imminent Deadline
     Boss's Threats
        Pressure
          Angst

Ha, ha, ha. Oh, my. This poem got me laughing so much, Gershon. Such a truthful tale of the vagaries of life. I stepped away from the rat race at age 33. I am 60 now. Never missed the money nor the suffocating pressure. Some can handle it ... compartmentalize it. Good for them. But I needed to be free from the stress. Ty for reminding me what I'm didn't miss, bro. Mighty fine poetry. Love and smiles.

What a great comment to get from a great guy. Made my day---but not because of your distress, of course...I managed to leave the business world at age 40, when I got into teaching. My income is 1/3 of what it used to be, but I'm a happier man and a better person, I think. Thank you as always for your kind words. :) gw
