In my happy place:
Island that is my birthplace.
Joining the rat race
As a temporary face
In my store at my own pace.

Before we begin let me say this is not a fun job.
I stand up, and shake their hand.
Thanks.
Fastest job interview ever.
Press, press, press, press
Stress, stress, stress, stress
Mess, mess, mess, mess
Less, less, less less,
I’m done
For most of my life,
I had to keep my day job;
but I still lived my dream.

City in a fog
Morning’s bleary eyes open
Lone soul witness to
Sixth-floor birds eye view, coffee
Whirring – warm in this moment.

A job that’s half done,
Was better left unstarted.
Your work signs your name!
Obedience
Nonchalant workers
unfazed by nature’s vista
contently labour
accepting their condition;
ageless Mount Fuji silent.
Entrepreneur Estée Lauder.
Foundation, concealer, and powder.
Advertising worth more than toman*:
"Telephone, telegraph, tell a woman."
Trump's government's a total wreck
The unemployed could wring his neck
They needed relief
But found only grief
With a Trump Reality Cheque
Scruffy was a disgusting slob
Who planted people for the mob
Though none ever grew
At least Scruffy knew
Times are tough, but he has a job!
The digits on strike marching by,
"Irrational!", managers sigh.
"We won't be rounded!",
Digits expounded,
"We just want a piece of the pi!"
Reject.
Love is a job.
Dating is the interview.
Rejection stops me applying to be with you.

Daylight savings time was for farmers
But its demise is now on the brink
Whether to keep it or let it go
I wonder what Big Ben workers think?

We become failures
only when quitting a task
that God has given
The poet John Keats
ran a hash-joint named, "John's Eats".
A Greek girl sought work. Disinclined to spurn,
he asked, "What does a Grecian earn?"
Once attending professional course
Shrinks attempted to fix mind flaws
They gorged on cocaine
But primitive brain
Has failed to achieve sacred pause
Texas Jews agree that they’ll hire
The kind folks who tough tasks won’t tire
So from Mexico
The illegals all know
Comes welcome without hostile fire
They toil and sweat
for someones pleasure.
We're all to blame
in equal measure.
