Farewell My Friend Farewell
I watch the sun set
in a distant sky.
Fading

on our Poetic Horizon.

Broken Hearted - Jtap
Our friendship here had only just started
then you left me alone, broken hearted
you're gone but not forgotten
now life it seems so rotten
ever since the sad day you departed.
We miss you, Chan :)
This was my sadder take on the "poet who broke my heart" contest theme....

A Sign From God
Send for me, should I be gone-
I am but a touch away
In hand with God and we are One
(In folds of light my Mind doth lay)
My shining Soul, both bright and dark,
Was bound by birth to Misery
With lucid lines, I now embark
To write my Life through Poetry

A Partially Clothed Mouse To a Partially Clothed Bear
Oh Winnie the Pooh
Why don’t you wear shoes?
Don’t your soft yellow paws hurt?
Do they get covered in dirt?
I myself wear clogs
As they help me to jog.
While wearing my boots and red britches
And I can jump all around and over ditches
Whereas I know you will slowly pad along
Before you stumble over a log
My dear, dear Pooh
Why don’t you wear shoes?

Cat Nap
Change of sheets
to ivory silk, color of cream
or buttermilk. Creme
Fraiche to mesh
in golden shine from
open blind. She's across
the bed to bask, to bask,
like a cat who knows
and shows the way, a spot
for the poet to store in
winter light, to toast in,
the bed, her host
in image clear, memory
dear, her cat C. Chan
curled by winter window
for winter sun, its
chill undone....

Dapper Yan
Dapper Yan was born in Sudan
in the back seat of a van
his mother's name was Ann
His father's name was dapper dan
and little Yan had a sister named Maryanne
All together there is a 100 in the clan
They were spread all over the land some in Spokane
A couple cousins in Iran
And every year Dapper dan
would take his son dapper Yan
with some of the clan on a caravan
to visit his uncle Chan can in Japan....

Damage Control: An Apology Poem
If the Result is Insult:
Rethink that course of thought!
For what can lead to the Heart's revolt
Is not the path I sought...
Wayward walking; trouble stalking
(When one lets loose their tongue!)
I can accept the poets' balking-
At least, when I cease to run,
And stop to take ownership
Of all the mistakes I've made
Vacation for my guilty trip-
As I apologize today

Oh, My Darlings
Oh, my Children; how thee I neglect!
Self-absorbed in Percocet
Mired in pain, I should like to explain-
That I am far from perfect
A better father you deserve:
Better-tempered, kinder moods
One not so consumed by nerves
And left to bitter broods
Oh, my Children, how you Sorrow
For your father, and his affections
Hope, my darlings, for the morrow
That he will find a new direction

Blank verse
Two Becomes Three
Candles lit up in the dark
Romantic movie--doors are locked
Petals all across the bed
From a rose so dark and red
Wine is being chilled on ice
So the flavors really nice
A new nightgown of silk and lace
To put a smile on his face
Chocolate melted on a berry
Making your mouth really merry
For a special night of love
To make an angel from above
A little one to call your own
And raise until she's finally grown
