Just Doesn'T Add Up
Pythagoras once fell off a ladder
And landed on a venomous adder
This adder couldn't add
Calculus made it sad
Algebra and theorems made it madder....

To My Wife
Diane,
What you know about physics and calculus wouldn't fill a thimble.
What you know about love and goodness overflows my heart,
    Every day.
I love you,

There once was a mathematician named Swope
Who said,” In calculus, while I’m deriving, I hope

No tangent could touch it

Long time ago there was a great Briton
Grand scientist called Isaac Newton
Apple fell on calculus
Gravity laws he gave us
Helpless Adam missed the fruit to bite on.

The calculous of life
Some in the scheme of life love plus,
Some others are fond of minus,
Some multiply, some may divide,
Who sets right all this calculus?

why do we need this
why do we need
calculus and trignometry
for all of us
i really dont know
we need meditation
we need music and art
education should be based
on meditation

I Married a Girl
I married a girl but in fact she was an octopus
Between a hundred leaps and skips she caught hold of a bus
She thrashed the first man she found
Squeezed the second on the ground
And began the head count with the integral calculus....

Untitled #51 / "you Guys Are Full of Excercise"
“You guys are full of exercise” – nonsense
even after she has finished
scolding Kyle for laying down his head
“Not bored, just sleepy”
I don’t blame him,
Calculus sucks
and now CRAZY Mrs. Howe walks in,
crowing, breathless, sharing new information
buying me time to record the events
but alas! even now we check homework....

"Reflections"

The mind
becomes flooded
with the relevance
of numbers

saints
sometimes
understand their
reflections,

the
other side
disagrees,
sliding calculus

sometimes,
the answers
found in the
reverberating sound

of numbness

binary

A Student's Work
Occupations are not
all useful, like when Sisyphus rolls
and nobody cares. Even Camus
can’t justify my love
of quantum or calculus, when it’s burn-lonely
rolling out the integrals: I integrate
myself into a human
-ist Existentialist here’s the point -ist
theory of why I am why I am
and when I differentiate my parents
chide me. I gather the pieces again....

And They Cry
She left home
Leaving calculus of tears
Encrusted under the eyes of her children

She left home in blade of sorrows
Leaving her children in suspense
But participated in a ghost congress
Our souls were left like aw in the skies
Pending cries under the eyes of I

Home was left devastated
And the sun deviated from the east
She left home like ember
And silence curls up in her lap…...

Clear Eyes
I had many teachers like that!!
When I was in college
I had a calculus teacher who talked like Ben Stein
"If you have dry scratchy eyes get Clear Eyes"
and a feminist psych professor that hated men
dissing us with every possible lecture...
Out of fifty students in that class
three were men,
" including me"
we all dropped after three weeks!!!!

Shaking Loose
Shaking loose
Tribulations
 Unraveling tight layers
Of blood soaked mercurial dreams

Meeting the real dea
lEconomics unveiled
The energy of transforming
The calculus of must

World revolving in an hour glass
That traffic spinning mechanism
 Foot locked focal blocked
 From peripheral expanding

The way water runs its grooves
Still shaking loose
These needles of yesteryea
rTill dried leaves fall
Of their own volition...

Frenetically
The nephrite syndrome.
I will not change the?
calculus, to find the truth
of the flesh.

The paid price of chemistry
will make history. If
you can stop the blitz?
of the replicas.

It ends like a fire, without
ashes. The limbs check
the fall. Across the river
an isle erupts.

The prisoner at last escapes,
from the procession of profanities.
You are finally liberated,
releasing the lost poem.

More Than This
MORE THAN THIS

More than this,
More than a lively string of pearls
In a petri dish,
We are more than this.
More than matter bumping matter,
We exist.
More than this,
More than chemistry, calculus
And quantum physics,
We are more than this.
More than random energy and light,
We are pure love in transit.
More than this,
More than thirsty vessels
For eternal bliss,
We are more than this,
We are ALL of this…
And more....

Based on observable
And well-documented evidence,
War is nothing but the deliberate
And systematic erasure of human life,
With the purpose of achieving
Some political goal.
In quantifying the variables
That factor into the equation,
There is not, so much,
A calculus of war,
As there is a basic arithmetic,
And it is computed
With the rubber end of a pencil.
In a war of attrition,
God is on the side
Of the big erasers....

Always Keep a Corkscrew, Lighter, and Calculator
These are the days of haunted, rented house

Of the technology of service

Of riding complete with ease

How the program shapes destiny

Still you must carry

The necessary implements

You never know what you may encounter

Down the road

You never know

Who may provide an answer

In the crazy mist of tumultuous days

A dull great man

Bereft of calculus once told me

its better to have a corkscrew

Though always,

You should use a lighter...

Some old movie plots
can't happen now, with changes
in technology...

You know, in a movie
when someone texts everyone
at school by* mistake*?

Who has *EVERYONE*
at school on their contacts list?
No way that happens.

Parent-less parties
where scores show up - with modern
*surveillance systems*?

or ditching class, heck
my parents are texted my
quiz scores real-time.

"why'd you get an 88
on that Calculus test, I
thought you studied?" Argh!...
