The Whistle
I waited for the day to come
When the whistle will blow
For it to let me know
That the time was now

It never happened
Do it now the time is now
For there is never a whistle nor a blower
To tell you to do...

Noisy mankind
Riding mower machines.
Rip the cord. Rev the engine.

Bang the nail, throw debris.
Point the blower, louder, faster.
No one heard the angelus ring.

Everyone forgot to pray
The churches fell
And came the last day.

Afternoon autumn
Our neighborhood goes crazy
Like living in a dentist’s office

Drilling sucking blowing
Whining wincing scraping

Gurgle

My head tilted back
With a book on my chest
Mouth wide open
Staring into the glare of the final high sun....

Premium Member My Name Should Be Lucille
My name should be Lucille.
I am that squeaky wheel.
If some things wrong I'll weigh it.
I'm not afraid to say it.
Some may not want to know her.
She's been a whistle blower.
I'm not a quiet bird.
My voice is always heard.
I'll never give you peace, so
just give me that grease....

Al Ask Uh -
An Inupiat "slow-grower"
Believed he could sink no lower
When an icicle rose
On the tip of his nose
He won "Number 1 Snow Blower"

 * * * *

A cold polar bear did stutter
And folk thought he was a nutter
But God loved him a bunch
And dropped off his lunch
With buckets of peanut butter....

Premium Member I Love My Tractor
My John Deere tractor is my favorite toy.
There’s nothing better that I enjoy.
I have many attachments I use every day,
That are used for more than just play.

My backhoe, chipper, and snow-blower are my friends.
Without them, my work would never end.
I love my tractor, it’s right outside.
Nature feeds my soul, as I take a ride....

The Glass Blower
Glaze the glass and blow
liquid luster, lava flow
Twirl the oven, hallucinate
Clink the cooling 'till it breaks
Make it cobalt, gold flecked muse
Shallow breath to counter fuse
Hollow bubble on sweating metal
Sting of lungs by the great glass nettle
The end is a bauble to be bought by the buyer
Born from the heat from the un-ending fire....

Premium Member What If They Say No
The silliest neighbors are getting on my nerves.
Always wanting to borrow a car or a snow blower.
Asking for money, and I wish I was kidding.
My dad said I should start asking them first.
Maybe he has a point.
But what if they say “no”
What if they stop speaking to me?
What if we stop being friends?
How will I get my stove and my husband back?...

Premium Member The Dysfunctional Family Welcomes Autumn
It’s Autumn!
Throw open the Windows
Get out the Leaf Blower
What falls on the Lawn
We’ll just Mow over
Get out the Shotguns
To clear out the spiders
Be careful about Grandma
In the cellar making Cider
We have new neighbors
What’d you say,Hoke?
Our cleaning may scare’ em ?
Screw Em’ if they can’t take a joke
Light the Fireplace
And see if it smokes....

Leafy
I'm sitting in a pile of leaves
waiting for the mad to comb my hair.
My eyebrows are dead butterflies.
The wind comes with sips of water.

My wife has gone
to buy a rich, heavy, fruit cake,
she will bring it home
on a pick-up truck.

I'm just okay here,
soon I will have to move though,
this day needs me to stitch it together
with a Chinese leaf blower.

Premium Member A Stormy Day
In the heaven above
The sky was packed
With too much snow
So the angels thought of a solution
And aimed their snow blower
To a special spot
That cleared the snow from above

Slowly the snow funneled
Down to the earth

Then it became stormy
It was like that all day long

The wind blew the snowflakes everywwashere
Along the walking path

It was impossible to see
It was very stormy
No one ventured outside...

A Nightmare
The system aborts.
(Multiple organs failure)
A deviant art
of dying pompously.

I wish, I was on a -
moving floor, sailing
without a walk, looking at
the camouflaged ceiling.

The shrill voice of a whistle-
blower, mimics an opera.
I will snatch the words,
raw, from your lips.

It was here, in absence.
Your poesy, matter-of-factly.
Can you raise your voice
against the fall of the thing.

Premium Member May We Never Be Unpresent
May our eyes be Godful
From the soil of our feet
To the mind washed of prejudices
Judgement and fear

May we walk as children hand in hand
The presence of our minds
Like leaves from a blower
Alarmed with the moment

Making smiles of sidewalk glares
Easing tension at the tables
Letting loose crazy-kindness

Into each others eyes we must dig
Like shoveling angels

So that we may watch miracles grow
From your mind to ours...
