The smell of bacon sizzled in the air.
Diners in baseball caps and ponytails
noisily chattered there.

The grill popped
to the teakettle’s screams
To harmonize with the babies cries
sitting on their Daddies knees.

Time drizzled by on the Chevy Belair clock
like the syrup on my Johnny cakes
while the waitress kept a pouring coffee
to the bikers, their cravings to abate....

Loves her badge more then her life
Heart colder then ice
A selfish soul
Greed has struck her
Guilty of lies and false statements
Her words are false
Her love is fake
She will cut you 
Then watch you bleed
She loves none
Not even her self
Her time will come

Whitecaps on the river;
White clouds in the sky.
I’m sitting on a bench with winds
That billow from on high.

While joggers pass behind me
And bikers pump their knees,
Some dogs on leashes strut their stuff
As I enjoy the breeze.

There’s sparkle on the water
And sunshine in the air;
I’ve things I should be doing
But for now, I just don’t care.

This promenade’s my refuge,
To settle and unwind,
A place to find a little peace

The bikers headed into Kalamazoo on a mean pink bike.
The guy yelled to a passerby-er, “why don’t you take a hike?”
His old lady yelled for him to run over the old guy’s foot.
We had never seen such meanness from a biker’s soot.

Are they cats or what? Someone asked, and I said, “For sure.”
They were as mean as cobras crawling out of cow’s manure.
They have a certain cattitude we had never seen in Kalamazoo.

Bright lights flashing,
music pounding,
drinks flowing,
guys comeing, guys going
no inhabitions,
no cares at all,
no one get hurts when they don't take the chance to fall,
taking chances
that you never would have before,
acting careless and stupid
yet feeling so unsure,
singing to the music,
dancing to the beat,
a different bar on a different night,
cowboys and bikers
and lots of fights,
meeting new people,
making new friends
being so happy
until the party life ends....
