Bess
She lay, lonelier than a stone,
hoping for company, any
company, but the only
visitor was Father Time,
come to say Goodbye....

Had a beloved wife named Bess.

Bess the Monster
There once was a monster called Bess,
Who lived on the shores of Loch Ness.
She was wracked with sudden guilt,
After lifting someone’s kilt,
And said, ‘Hoots mon, what a mess!’...

"I have a sweet spider," Bess said.
"Don't fear it; just pet it instead!"
But just then "sweet" spider
proceeded to bite 'er.
She stomped on it till it was dead!

A restless night sleep
A restless night sleep
All the evening long
A restless night sleep

Tossing and turning
Tossing and turning
Sleep is hard to seek
Bess wakes up tired

She looks for a sale
For a new mattress
Going store to store
Until she finds it...

A GRAND DAY AT THE BEACH

Their bodies on stilts, a day in the sand.
Old ladies in suits, san stretch marks and tanned.
Sue’s covered in lime, Bess in polka-dots.
Ellen wears a wild two-piece ~ leopard spots.
Three friends on the beach, grand-shadows in sand.

Harry Truman was renown for giving 'em hell

And in such matters he did excel

But he got himself in a terrible mess

When he tried such tactics on dear old Bess

Premium Member My Take On Peter Duggan
It's been some years
Since I was young
Born carefree and having fun
Wearing smiles and shedding tears
Worried sick with growing fears
But now I simply take it slow
And watch those hasty on the go
I breathe each breath
And feel the Sun
And share Gods Love with everyone

Thanks Peter for sharing, "God Bess Your Eyes"...

Husband Harry was well known for using earthy language now and then.

He used a not so nice word other than "crap" over and over again!

Bess heard that term so often that it became hard for her to endure.

Said she, "I'm trying to get him to clean up his act and use the term "manure!"

The Lady and the Electrician
There was a nice lady named Bess,
Her age not many could guess,
Because when she put on her face,
Her age did erase,
But left the bathroom a mell of a hess!

Her husband was an electrician for hire,
He sat on a generator and licked a wire,
He toathted hith tongue,
And burnt up hith bung,
And now he always thits fire!

( I'm sorry. I tried hard but could not find any moral to this story.)...

Premium Member Steampunk Beetle
Steampunk beetle knew how to dress.
He was always immaculate, never a mess.
I liked his monocle too, I must confess.
I visited him often in the home of my grandma Bess.

The one thing that he did of which I could not agree….
He replaced body parts with metal, first an arm, then a knee.
Why do you do this? I asked; it was weird as far as I could see.
I want to be as steampunk as I can possibly be....

Premium Member D Is For Dog-Bess
We adopted our dog Bess
Collie-cross,black & white,no less;
Perfect in temperament,ready to please
Walking her,my mind at ease.

Each night to her bean bag she crept
In the kitchen , cosy,she slept;
Welcomed all with wagging tail
Without faults,she could not fail.

A pet no one would ever trade
Her memory now in cross-stitch made;
Loyalty of the lasting,loving kind
No replacement,were we to find....

Trap
I'm trap in this cage consume with rage.
With a heart as cold as the ice age.
Walking through the valley of darkness.
The pain of my pass I can't suppress.
As the blood drip down my neck.
Barely breathing my soul is a wreck.
but I'm still human even though my soul is cold.
Got me wondering when will my destiny unfold.
Am I doomed to live this life.
Running from society living by this knife.

Her First Time
my niece Bess
hangs her head
not in shame
over her head
married too soon
macho man
4 month baby
overwhelmed
where did she go
disappeared into motherhood
thin as a rail
wifedom
tail between her legs
a young girl who should be singing songs
on stages
around the world fell for
lust and a redhead
a burly bossy handsome man
whos charm for me was transparant
but then
I've seen him before
and this was her
first time....

Premium Member Wish She Would Show Me Some Leg
Wish she would show me some leg an eighty-year old guy said.
Three of his cousins turned around and flashed old Ed.
He laughed so hard, his teeth flew out of his brittle mouth.
That was hilarious! Said his date, who had come from the south.

They are my cousins; they really got me that time I guess.
Another old greaser said “do I have any chance with Tess?”
Tess gave him a big smile, and shook her head yes.
“I think that’s your answer,” said old guy’s date, Bess....

dreamt to relieve myself
of fearful thoughts, patriotic
plots. dressed to kill in Washington
skirt, no pants of a farmer
wielding a British brown bess
blessed with happiness before
the frightening knock at the door
exploded out of shock
towards the door...towards the door
while family holds their revolutionary breaths
the bouquet
of children unaware
of dangerous situation
a shot in the dark
a shot heard round the world
that never stops
