Bess' Pet Spider

"I have a sweet spider," Bess said. "Don't fear it; just pet it instead!" But just then "sweet" spider proceeded to bite 'er. She stomped on it till it was dead! For Carolyn and John's Limericks Contest: "Are You Bugged?"

Owwwcheee gee Andrea! I really did bug you huh?? oopsy... Haha. I read your comment in Carolyn's poem ;) sorry, ok ok if it bugs you then it's a bug-- I so remembered you when I watched Salt yesterday!! Have you seen it? Angelina there you can definitely relate to-- she sees spiders as bugs too! HAHA. I'm siding with her hubby there... haha ok I'll say spiders are buggers, but not bugs!! haha me being a bugger now (not booger though) hahaha. hugs or should I say bugs, nikko ^_~

How cool and funny, Andrea!...Love the flow and exact syllable count throughout...We made 'pets' out of the spiders in our basement as youngsters. We went out and caught grasshoppers, etc. for them, placed them in their webs and kept them fat and happy! (Yes, we were weird and BAD little boys!) Congrats on the win! - Tim

No not my first Tanka...wrote Island Illusion for Brian's contest..remember? but I thought there were two lines that had to rhyme...like on the forms of poetry under Tanka... this is what I used to write FREE..luv..

Oh Andrea, this will be a winner for sure. It is very funny, although I would not kill a spider, especially if it belonged to a friend. I cover them with a glass and empty them outside. I had to laugh at this one though. Love, Connie
