Premium Member Take Me In To the Ball Game - 2020
Take me in to the Ball Game
   Take me into my room
Just switch on the old-fashioned radio
For a taste of the game, it's the best way to go

'Cos it's write, write, write a new poem
As you cock half an ear to the game
For it's one, two, three stanzas -- Cubs win!

Contact Lens
Poised on the end of your finger tip, you open your eyelid wide,
it pops straight onto your iris and you barely even tried.
When it comes to removing it, it’s an entirely different ball game,
you gently try to slide it out and almost end up maimed.
Why is it something that is so thin, can feel like a brick,
and why can’t you find it when on your eyeball it did stick?...

Premium Member Take Me Out To the Ballgame
Daddy, please take me out to the ball game
running the bleachers, enjoying the fame
buy me some warm peanuts and crackerjacks
let the ball fly to the outfield with a whack!

Daddy, can I go play with my friends in the field?
There are lightning bugs, and they easily yield.
I want to chase and run and twirl and spin.
I don't care about baseball, the sport or the win!...

Hello Poetry Soup friends. I’m really excited because there is another member of my family here. My 15 year old nephew JUST joined tonight. If you are a friend of mine, why don’t you just mosey on there and welcome him in? I would be ever so grateful. He usually posts poems on Facebook, like I used to, but being with a community of writers is just another ball game, so please…..Welcome DYLAN MANASSIAN!

unbelievable
last ball game he’d ever see
          grand slam ball for dad

Took my dad to a Yankees vs Texas Rangers game
Grand slam home run
to tie up the game
I caught the ball and gave it to my dad.
He passed away before the next season started
That was the last game we ever saw together.
The only Major League game he ever saw.
It was a dream of his.
He was astatic when I caught the ball....

Read All About It
I peddled papers that cost just a dime
In my baskets that rode on balloon tires so fine
Made some tips, about four of five bucks
birds spread the news too, so do all the ducks
do you think that they are in the choir
they entertain you for free and not for hire.
going to the ball game cost you a days pay
innings are long, food is bad, so you don’t stay
where can you go and become amused
best things in life are free, and a dime for the news...
