A Drink Of Let Go

A Drink of Let Go

Hardy Levis shorts
Stuckup seesaw
Let go of forgot
Now playing
To my mistakes Sounds of chord Shapes in time
Echo at the end before
The meeting has begun
I can't let go
I say what is life
On any casual day
Will I miss the flowers and the.trees
There's a girl over there
we latch on

just like Salvador.

not like the wisest
dont act like you care
Predator.

your floating in the wrong seas
your fighting me for what for
your hunting for the wrong things
all like Salvador.

Your fighting in the wrong seas
hunting for the wrong things
up side down, wrong

Fair Game

POEMS ABOUT POOL SHARKS

Fair Game
by Michael R. Burch

At the Tennessee State Fair,
the largest stuffed animals hang tilt-a-whirl over the pool tables
with mocking button eyes,
knowing the playing field is unlevel,
that the rails slant, ever so slightly, north or south,
so that gravity is always on their side,
conspiring to save their plush, extravagant hides
year after year.

“Come hither, come

Premium MemberSwimming with sharks

In times where eyes are fixated at your sins,
judgment trolls in deceptive double standards.
When pointing fingers nobody really wins,
there's no joy in being defamed and slandered.
Swimming in an aquarium full of fins,
sharks will bite your flesh then leave you abandoned.
Scars will bleed with pain making you feel brittle,
hard

Sharks and Paddlers

"Sharks and Paddlers"

That one’s like a pilot fish
follows up the ladder and down

snakes and ladders
sharks and paddlers

That one’s like a pilot fish
lost without a body to cling to

Sea of Sharks

A shiver finning slowly and meticulously through the currents of an empathic sea
Wanton eyes peering and hungering because they're bloodthirsty

Yes,

Clearly!

The thirst for blood is present
But just any ol' blood won't do
It is the highly coveted blood of an empath that's in their view
Now, the great hunt ensues
An indomitable quest to satiate an

My boyfriend (Peter) and I went down to New Haven Harbor today.

Let’s face it, we’re surrounded by oceans,
and most of them are downright inhospitable.

I live near the ocean, (pointing) it’s right over there.
I love the ocean, tripping over whenever I’ve time to spare.

The way I’m fawning over it, you’d think I know it well.
But I

Poems About Pool Sharks

POEMS ABOUT POOL SHARKS

Shark
by Michael R. Burch

They are all unknowable,
these rough pale men—
haunting dim pool rooms like shadows,
propped up on bar stools like scarecrows,
nodding and sagging in the fraying light...

I am not of them,
as I glide among them—
eliding the amorphous camaraderie
they are as unlikely to spell as to feel,
camouflaged in my own pale dichotomy...

That there

Swift, agile predators,
sharks patrol coral reefs
swimming silently and
stealthily among the
shadows, they pursue prey,
surgically culling
sick and or injured fish.

She's a triathlete, dialed into an optimal diet.
Of dedication and clean living.
Logging lonely miles down isolated trails.
Where grizzlies and perverts like to dwell.
She bikes upon the veins of a big city.
Cars filled with smart phoners and assorted crazies.
Buzzing within inches of her lean ambitions...
(she has much more faith than me).

She dips into the sea at

beneath circling clouds
in the depths of the ocean
with little nearby
lies a speck of an island
of but thirty-five square miles

green mountain rising
from which hot lava once flowed
most toward the west
where the people live today
in modest isolation

not quite as busy
as during the Falkland War
a remote haven
for whale and turtle watchers
and those not easily bored

the Two Boats village
