Set In Motion Poems | Examples

Tackling a slick problem like D’Alembert’s paradox—
a cylinder set in motion, destined to roll on and on—
My fresh numerical method spoke in the same voice,
but sparked sharp debate—someone blamed me for ignorance.
Until a quip cracked the tension: “D’Alembert’s paradox doesn’t account for lubrication.”

Truths can slice deep, sharper than we expect,
Yet a wry smile, a joke, can transmute iron into gold.
Humor doesn’t erase the sting—it dulls the edge,
revealing strength when despair weighs us down.

A sense of humor is our forged armor:
a spark of joy in the heart, a reluctant laugh on the lips—
it signals someone who grasps life's brittle elegance.
A gentle jest softens the hardest truths,
shading overwhelming realities with grace.

When wit stands as a stronghold,
even bitter truths echo with less sting.
You don’t flee reality—you greet it with a grin—
and in that greeting, you find the courage to begin again.

There is order to my chaos
an urgency to make things right
I have ambitions I can taste
dreams that must be set in motion
once I see the morning light

There is order some my chaos
a plan when all you see is madness
I fear that I’ll run out of time
I long to leave my affairs most orderly
A fine book they’ll close after its last chapter

Direct Intention

Sitting in a body with intention,
Lifting my heart to listen.
Focusing my attention,
Searching for the lesson,
Through astral projection.
Thoughts travel best when,
Sitting silent with intention,
Allowing the mind to open.
Know you've been chosen,
Your name being spoken,
Across the ocean.
The Book Of Life open,
The plan set in motion,
Through actions and devotion.
A magic potion I'm holding,
Creation I'm molding,
Reality unfolding.
Information downloading,
Flowing with precision,
The right to decision.
Choose to accept your mission,
Step into your vision,
Listen to your intuition.
Evolution through intention,
Open hearts feel the lesson,
Opening to a new direction.

Blue Butterfly

A girl encased in time
All she sees is a garden of flowers
A blue butterfly flies by
Suddenly she surges with power
Transported to this beautiful place
The butterfly sits in her hair
Some time passes by

Beware of the effects of the garden
Suddenly the butterfly is not there
Panic is set in motion,
I'm not sure why because,
My heart is usually hardened.
She runs through a forest, her vision is blurry
She finds the blue butterfly, caught in a web
She rushes to the butterfly in a hurry
Tears flowing like rivers down her face,
In real life too? Wait…

I opened my eyes,
All this time had passed me by,
I don't know why, but I just sat there and cried.

Premium Member Haunted

Haunted
By a portrait on the wall
By eyes that will not let me be
The man who went instead of me
and took the fall.

Haunted
By the ship I set in motion
Watching with disbelief
when it hit the reef
And sank into the violent ocean.

Haunted
By the child's life ended too soon
a life of brilliant colors, summers lost
no way to put a value on the cost.
A bird in flight, eclipsed at noon.

Haunted
By the vultures on the heath
Under the obscuring mist
I had no plan for this
Couldn't face what lay beneath.

Haunted
By the mess I made
They tell me that duties remain
They say don't wallow in the pain
Let the memories fade

Pointless
But I don't think it right
to kill the ghosts that haunt the night.

Dreamscapes

Behind the Eyes,

Where true life lies,

There is another,

Stealing thunder,

From our slumber.

Unlimited space,

Embracing a whole new pace,

Jumping place to place.

Seeing face to face,

In these altered states.

Spirits playing chase,

Leaving blueprints to trace,

The beginning of A new race.

The feeling of God's grace,

Finding you and Guiding you.

All this Feels so new,

So Real too.

Surfing through,

Waves of emotions,

Oceans of energy,

Set in motion.

There is To much commotion,

My Eyes start to open.

Time is frozen,

The memories chosen,

As we comprehend,

Fleeting moments,

Now just whispering,

Into our presence.

Significant Other

Stressed, he asks, yes
I am, knowing that you are the one have me in a mess
How can I be your significant other when you make me feel insignificant than your lover
Significant other? What does it mean?
It's says it's a person who is important to someone's well being
It can also refer to someone with whom someone has a romantic or sexual relationship that is likely to last longer
But with each passing day you leave me astray making our love not much stronger
If you really didn't want to be with me and I'm such a terrible person
Then maybe it's the reason I'm in my head cursin' thinking that one day I'll be rehearsin' my vows, my devotion
I thought I had it set in motion
But in reality, your reality, I'm just your insignificant other
The whole time I've been sitting here thinking that I was your significant other

The Queen

All Rise for the Queen!!

Embracing the scene,

Glowing glimmering green,

Your energy machine,

So divine,

Serene,

The unseen,

Your go-between,

She's here to intervene.

When Out of balance,

And feeling Unclean.

When acting obscene,

Jealousy, and envy,

Just plain being mean.

Running around all,

ME! ME! ME!

It's how we're trained to be.

Breathe,

Relax, come back.

Stay on track,

Pick up the slack,

Counter attack.

Build the rampart,

Play it smart.

Be the start,

Embrace your part,

With love in your heart.

You are the love I AM,

My counter part,

A work of art.

You were set apart,

The truth was buried,

Hidden within your Heart.

Such A powerful potion,

Our Loving emotion.

Like A Golden River Flowing,

The Energy set in motion,

Pouring like an Ocean,

Connecting each part,

Starting from the Queen,

Her chambers lie in the heart.

Premium Member The Wind

I watch the wind moving through the trees
Touching each leaf differently...individually,
Like the Spirit of God moving through our lives...

We sway and bend, accepting His presence,
Abandoning ourselves to His mercy,
Set in motion by His will alone!

O great Father,
I see you there in the passing clouds
And in the waving of the tall grass...

I hear you whisper in the trees
And your love washes over me with the wind's caress...

Let me stand silently before you
Like a tall tree in your garden...

Move through me until all that moves me is you,
Until I disappear into the landscape of your grace...

I praise you for the silence in my soul
Let my leaves touch the heavens
My heart forever grateful
Forever peaceful,
Forever yours!

Back to one

Back to one
It weren't much fun
It cost too much
In time and such
It made me feel
This pain were real
I've had enough
Let go of this stuff
Flow and flux
Through ever-changing muck
Your freedom is here
Your strength will persevere.
Let loose from your weight
Drop all the pain and hate
Forgive yourself the shame
Of the lessons you had to claim
Understand in this mosaic
Most of it is archaic
Actions set in motion, far before our time
It is not necessary to carry all that blame.
Find the world again thru awe
Choose love and forgive all
Included is yourself
You made it through much hell
You've lived to stand again
Today be your own best friend
Prioritize yourself and
Make love your truth and wealth.

Be Free To Choose

Don't listen to bad advice,
you're allowed to make
the same mistake twice;
please, wake up for Heaven's sake:
mistakes aren't easy to unmake,
stop tossing the dice!

Shattered dreams
set in motion tears,
be free to choose the life
that offers only happiness,
don't settle for anything less:
prevent another goodbye!

If emotions take over sanity:
you'll fall in that trap again and be sorry;
I'm here to guide you, until it's very clear
that perfection is vanity,
but many won't shout and cheer
when fear starts to appear!

Nobody has ever been free of guilt,
we all have made terrible mistakes;
and the best lesson is to learn twice,
who has hurt someone's heart
can understand what it takes
to gather strength and apologize!
So be free to choose joy, not pain;
so be free to express your devotion!

Premium Member His Goodness

The canopy lies still as it has since the beginning.
From space and outer space, the entire milky way
awaits new orders from its loving creator.

The canopy nor any of their kin knows when.
They only know that change is heading their way.
But until then, they wait patiently in the month of May.

Before time and eternity were ever set in motion, God knew.
Before light broke forth from the void of nothingness, God knew.
Before Lucifer's fall, God knew that He would make all things new.

Yes, the entire universe knows that God is up to something;
The timing of which not even the angels are informed.
We mortals keep attempting to predict the unpredictable.

Regardless of who or where we are, The whole earth is 'Ground Zero'.
The word 'huge' cannot begin to describe what God is up to.
But for all who trust Him, we can boldly say, "I'm good".

I'm not good in terms of the beauty and quality of my life,
nor have I done or could I do anything to deserve His mercy.
But His Goodness and love will cause all of creation to rejoice.

"One word frees us of all the weight and pain of life. The word is love.
Sophocles, Greek Poet

How can our world be so abundant and blessed
with nature's vast displays of harmony,
so filled with pictures of beauty and love,
wrapped in the fingers of God's gracious love,
and be so filled with mortals void of love?
God grants us mortals freedom of choice.

We account for the choices that we make.
We account for the courses that we take.
Has our universe been set in motion
and forever programmed to have no choice?
Do non-mortal entities not debate?
God's love set all things in its proper place.

Should not His love heavily guide our love?
Such love guarantees to free us from pain.

Who Has Ever Said

Each thought to touch each other
the earliest possible crossed us;
we were close but no total strangers:
we were friends avoiding an affair.

Who has ever said we had no affection?
Our thoughts were war too romantic,
they remained unspoken and platonic;
leaving enough time for reflection.

We used to say, " Lay off kisses,
we are two teens and can wait."
Did we ever think that years
would pass without any delight?

Who ever said we would let precious
love go by and not feel we had missed
another big chance to get happiness?
Who has ever said our passion was dead?

Five minutes of fun and pleasure
can break our trust
when we can't resist;
we'll lose everything for a treasure
we have never found in others:
adults can make better decisions!

Who ever said we had no affection?
We weren't afraid to set in motion
tomorrow's plans for a later time
and it didn't cost us a single dime!
