Does Your Heart Share This Moon Tonight

“For in your light I dream, as evening takes my hand”

Silently I find my thoughts illumined by your beauty
In soft shimmers of dancing silhouettes
and patterns allowing far away breaths to sigh

Eyes peer into velvet skies,
visions set in motion eternally, find me stranded of this
distance we share, north to south, longing for you
Desperate for but a breeze, a movement of shadow,
a hope of wishes made upon the early arrival
of this crested view

Lonely among the maples, towering soldiers
lined at fielded boundaries, claiming wisdom
as they too reach for your smile

“And I yearn the knowledge of your distant view”

Do you think, do you feel, do you dream of me
from balconies high above hibiscus footpaths,
candle lit in passing moments which flicker, enchant

Drinking from a porcelain cup caressed by your hand,
a touch my body pleads, soft fingers on smooth surroundings,
ripples following moonlight sonatas,
days of spring blooms and whimsical showers,
flooding affections to wash over me,
carry me to you

This moon, suspended in charcoal heavens
upon a beaded blanket of perfect pearls,
beckons our dreams in simultaneous fashion

“Does your heart share this moon tonight, with me”

Emotions In Motion

Pleasure threw a party for her friends to come,
she sent invitations out to each and every one.
There were 10 responses and Pleasure did assume
it would be fun to see them interacting in one room.

Unfortunately the 10 who were about to show
had issues with each other ,things she didn’t know.
Joy had left depression just a month before,
couldn’t tolerate his negativity no more.

Paranoia kept Bewildered so confused,
the more mixed up she got the more he was amused.
Affection tried to help Obsession understand,
how her food addiction was getting out of hand.

Apathy was drinking wine coolers as a crutch,
all emotions were aware that she indulged too much.
Acceptance and Joy showed up late but seemed content,
they were welcome at every emotional event.

Depression was not over Joy, he saw her and felt blue,
Bewildered was sure that Paranoia hid her shoe.
Anxiety lost Acceptance and nervously confessed
he brought Assertiveness to help him mingle with the rest.

Affection accused Obsession of eating the buffet,
Paranoia tried to leave, Assertiveness stood in his way,
in the kitchen drinking by herself was Apathy,
Joy and Acceptance both enjoyed the hospitality.

Then Joy helped Bewildered put both of her shoes on,
Paranoia fell for Apathy, they both stayed till dawn.
Acceptance told Anxiety she 'd liked him as a friend,
Affection said “I’m sorry” to Obsession in the end.

Pleasure was quite happy only 10 guests were there,
if there had been more it might have been a wild affair,
each one settled, got along and as you can presume
all emotions set in motion made for a busy room.

Premium Member Love? Bah!

All these insipid poems of Love
Love Lost….
Love Found….
What is this emotion that makes UP? Down?

All this frantic fretting
nail biting and bed-wetting.

What is this profound poetic notion?
What is the source of this commotion??

All these romantic, rabid, ramblings, of Love
Love Lost..
Love Found…
What is this emotion that makes UP? Down?

Palms pale and sweat,
brows furrow and frown.

All these horrid, hormonal, tizzies,
do little more than make one dizzy.
Love Lost…
Love Found…
Abandon this morose emotion
right this curse, set in motion.

And, if I may, let me suggest,
the route Narcissus took was best.
Love revealed…
Love found.
A love who’ll never let you down.

A love without product or prodigy
To fill the world with more dichotomy.

Premium Member Together As One

Together As One
To dream as one.
When we dream we dream as one. When we laugh we laugh as one. We have a life
together that compliments one another. We have a love that is like no other it’s as
one. We reach for the stars and look for the moon. We support and care for one
another on our journeys as our journeys cross paths.
We listen with excitement to each other’s dreams. To understand and encourage
comes from the heart. Knowing with certainty that we deserve the love we give and
receive as we are as one. What is wonderful for one is so for the other for our life
path is the same. Knowing one so well is to know one’s self without a doubt.
Dreams that come together both big and small shared by knowing hearts that want
the same want are as one. A love so strong can feel and guide with the stars and
moon. Set in motion a force together nothing can sever but blessed be a dream
together as one!
Dream, laugh, and love we do as one for we became one. Together we reach for the
stars and the moon as we share the paths we take. Our journey takes us many
directions to which we share our delight. A journey worth taking is a journey worth
sharing…sharing as one!
                                                                                   Debbie Knapp

The Sun Rises- -The Moon Sets

These were set in motion from the beginning of time.
Heavens abound in each of their glory, power sublime.
Every excursion that they set upon revolves in rhyme.

Solar orb that secures life upon this planet we dwell.
Universally seen around our globe, for all to tell,
Never tiring it revolves, captured within its cell.

Rising up from its core, flares of powerful streams.
I respect what has risen from the sunny beams.
Sharing the glory that it has upon everyone, it seems.
Evident by the life that it supports even in dreams,
Solar star of daylight hours continue as nature deems.

Till nightfall approaches while another completes the set.
Helping to guide travelers for centuries the positions to get,
Evening ignites different phases upon this satellites debt.

Monthly revolutions of this celestial body sway the hours.
Orbital bliss has spoken richly along with romantic flowers.
Opening souls in sensuality and fulfilling romantic powers.
New moon to which many have fell into its magical showers.

Splendor of the night as it falls to set upon the new dawns light.
Exemplary versions follow a pattern, which marvels natural sight.
Take notice of what you may be missing each upcoming night.
Said, I’ve heard, old sailors delight, shining, enchantingly bright.

The True Love of a Man

When I was just a little girl, I dreamed I’d meet a knight.
He’d proudly wear his shining armor, and guard me day and night.
I kept on dreaming half my life and searched as I grew.
Until I found my knight one day, I found my knight in you!
Before our paths crossed that day, my struggles had been great.
But when I laid my eyes upon you, I thought it must be fate.
You gently got to know me and embraced me as a friend.
And as our friendship grew in time, we knew it wouldn’t end.
As our lives were set in motion, we climbed mountains and sailed seas.
And as we’ve shared our lives together, we’ve blended with such ease.
Our friendship grew as years passed by into such an enduring love.
This thing we have together now was blessed from God above!
I know we both have said it. We feel it in our souls.
We’ve devoted our lives to each other, and together we’ll grow old.
The love we share is very rare, and should be held with high esteem.
For some may only find this kind, only in their dreams.
This is what God planned for us, to live here on this land.
To be the best we both can be, walking through it hand in hand.
Even when our roads seem rough, we must have a faith that lasts.
We’ll smile as we share many today’s, and reflect gladly on our past.
I hope I’ve touched your life my love, as much as you’ve touched mine.
For this is the love I’ve always dreamed of, a love both gentle and kind.
I believe we meet our “soul mate” only once in our lives.
This blessing from God has come to us, I’m proud to be your wife.
With all this said my poem will end.
A poem for my love, who is also my friend!
I want to thank you with all that I am,
For showing me Darling, the true love of a man!

With all my love, Michelle

New City - Get Ready

Mama I want to be a star
I want to grace stages that host the world's revered faces
Fantasies shameless my pipe dreams contagious
I want to be famous

Not one for fictional frivolity
I speak of what's in front of me
A new city called Poetry,
I watched as the has-beens soaked their dreams in sewage streams
Unphased by rodent plagues
These ones embrace their own rat race
I still try to navigate the avenues
Negotiate the ones and twos and find a way to tell the truth

Young and unstable I stumble in the giant footprints of those who stood before me
Tip toe on verbal terrain as desperately I pray the weight of immaturity won't bury me,
Admittedly this spoken world is new to me

-But-

Is it possible in any way the gift of verse will carry me?

I see me breaking grounds, earth shattering and in my dreams these words resound
I'll turn cacophony into somewhat of a sacred sound
I want to craft phrases that serenade, deliver sweet-somethings that emancipate
I want, in some way to bring meaning to confusion
Dear world of poetry
Sometimes when they're floored I'm in awe of how my flow's flawless, I hear applause no pauses, waving arms and stinging palms bear tribute to those timeless charms, classic tales still bent with intent to succumb to new pens

Pave way for insecurity
For fear of gift escaping me
See I fail to write when I'm trying to
I get it right with no intention to
Am I...within my right to claim potential true?
Tear ink off her hinges, her blue ball point cringes
Left hand in debt
My blank page bereft

But in the back of my mind
I see standing ovations and soul drenched invasions..
I want to pierce every being I encounter,
I want to penetrate faith, tear doubt asunder,
Let me to speak to the valleys
negotiate peaks and make friends with epitome
I want to part oceans and in the grips of my - pause - tempt emotions,

mold momentum to set in motion the wheels of adoption so that poetry.....may adapt herself for me

I want to write poetry, I want to speak
I want to reach within,
 pen something...
 A remote reflection of her
This...this brand new city
I present this piece as fantasy
 when in all reality
I do hope she's prepared for me

Matricide/Mother Earth

I have come to accept the possibility
that I, myself, may be partially to blame (my compost pile of shame)

that I may have stroked the very wheel (unable to feel)
that, set in motion, is the cause of
so much pain (unsheltered in the rain)

Silently suffering through endless winters (embers, cinders)
without anticipation of Spring (hope an ethereal thing)

blind to Mother Earth's gifts (tenuous unfelt shifts)
the colors, the scents of her blossoms (habitually playing possum)
deaf to the melodies of the birds (knowledge lost, language
                                                                        unheard)
as they sing

She calls to me but my barriers are thick (mentally stunted, physically sick)
densely scarred and wounded (as I am, to the quick)

As the sludge chokes the seabirds (screaming their lost words)
and the fishes (murdering Piscean wishes)
as Her forests are cleared by those
both greedy and vicious
I feel Mother Earth tremble (demons assemble)
beneath my feet
hear Her sigh as I place a hesitant finger (shaking, letting it linger)
on Her weakened pulse
thready and irregular
We are killing Her, Mother Earth,
mother of us all, matricide (no longer can we hide)
listen, listen to Her heartbeat...

I may have stroked the very wheel...

Our Trusting Landlord

This earth
Oh what a curious thing to perceive
Existing within its home, the Universe
A unique, rare and aqueous marble
With a lifespan well surpassing our own
We call it our home, but it is only for rent
Things will begin to change
Humanity will try resist
We are in a system that has long been set in motion
A plan that we cannot stop
Green
What a faction of false hope
A color stained in negativity
Greed, Money, Power, Politics
Oh what a sly plan
A thorn stabbed in the lions paw
Our advantage taken against an orb in suffering
This trusting earth
Telling a secret
Our society
Screaming it to the world

Premium Member Love In the Spirit Realm

I revere you here, in the midst of the flames
Which scald incinerates and purifies the faith,
And hurled ash and smoke into the frames
Where flowers blossomed before our birth.

Which scald incinerates and purifies the faith
Where you swear me words as we escape,
Where flowers blossomed before our birth
Sorrow lurks in oak limbs, safe from gape.

Where you swear me words as we escape
Where the wind twirls ice veils across hills,
Sorrow lurks in oak limbs, safe from gape
On flows set in motion at creation's chills.

Where the wind twirls ice veils across hills
Where somber seas race moon-mad tide,
On flows set in motion at creation's chills
Ancient sea-tossed stones once men reside.

I revere you here, away from fire and grime
And hurled ash and smoke into the frames,
You and I are linked in a spiritual sublime
I revere you here, in the midst of the flames.

Premium Member Summer Love

At day's end a retreating sun banished
Awestruck we witness its closing farewell
Silently the last veil of hue vanished
Our woes amounting to mere bagatelle

Nightfall air transfixed as if by a spell
Overcome with a wave of emotion
Rose sublimely over the citadel
An opalescent moon set in motion

‘Twas a night of magical proportion
Willow trees swaying in the summer breeze
Billowing waves pulsating devotion
Surrendering unperturbed with such ease

A sumptuous spectacle up above
Reflected in a sea of divine love

Premium Member Nature's Elixir

Silky smooth with taste sublime,
a creamy dream, you’ll lose your mind.
As twilight comes, her beauty shines...
This brew is sure to satisfy.

It quenches all of man’s desires,
fierce thirst induced by inner fires,
spent bodies aching to conspire
with all that leads them ever higher.

A dream, yet such a simple notion;
one sip, gears primed are set in motion
transporting bliss, fervent emotion;
nature’s elixir ~ love’s finest potion.

Happy Logic

Nothing has a reason to begin with
It is a party of its own with no clothes on
Formulaic intricacies grow wild in mushroom clarity
Causality set in motion by music sounds out loud
Its grasp far reaching, weightless, astounding
On a line of invisibility destiny stretches in a yawn
Violins have no strings to be attached to any song
Held fast in times illusion
Dancing is forbidden in the dark
Freedom is an extension, not exactly hair
Randomly receding in all directions
Time is unwinding on tomorrows blink
Strobe-lights are an afterthought of spinning on
History sinking fast with every drink
Coming to festivities with one shoe missing is wrong
The black one or was it a sneaker
Let me think
Music laughs at circumstances quite like this
But changes tempo as it wishes
Surrounds circles so circular and round
Directs them to their proper corners square
Orgasmic at the edges of forgetfulness in fun and laughter
Circles are not square
Not yet!
The evening is young and has no children
Light the cigarette with caution
Don't forget the curtains
For no other reason than attention to be friendly
Tip the waitress when the party ends
Logic dictates that we leave before we came
That way we can go and never come again

Premium Member Writhing Motion

Place your hand on your head
As if it were a winter cap
Spread your fingers
But don't take a nap

Wiggle your fingers
In a writhing movement
Now that old brain sucker
Is set in motion

You know what that
Brain sucker is doing
He's sucking your brain
But it is an illusion

In actuality his belly
Is quiet empty
Soon he'll starve
For there isn't any

He only sucked a mirage

Premium Member Words

The power of the spoken word,
Can cure or it can kill.
It's up to you who wields the sword,
To use it as you will;

Defending those attacked by words,
Or helping to bring down,
The tongue can be a weapon, Friend,
Or see that wounds are bound.

A two edged sword will swing both ways,
To bring down friend or foe,
And once it's set in motion,
There's no telling where it goes.

We can but stand and watch the waves,
Of wrath that it will bring,
And hope that soon the squall is spent,
And learn from what we've seen;

But if we use it wisely,
The word can be a balm,
To bind up wounds quite nicely,
And bring the heart a song.

A WORD FITLY SPOKEN IS LIKE APPLES OF GOLD IN PICTURES OF SILVER.
                                                                                             Proverbs 25:11

IN THE MULTITUDE OF WORDS THERE WANTETH NOT SIN:
BUT HE THAT REFRAINETH HIS LIPS IS WISE.
                                                                  Proverbs 10:19
