A flower does not think of composting.
It just blooms.
~Zen Proverb
Serenity is a place I haven’t found,
Elders say it’s all around
Residing in the air we breathe;
Even though I practice faithfully
Not a fragment comes to me,
Incense perfumed with morning mist
Teaches me I am alive and well,
Yet, serenity is an ever elusive realm.
E clipse of the sun mesmerizes us
N early blinding awestruck onlookers
I dle gossip intermingled with tall tales
G argoyles whisper them in gardens
M aestro orchestrating seasons’ dance
A nd above reigns a sky that rules our world

Dusting, as if Second Advent is Christmas Day
Entertaining, from abundance or for mere lack
Cooking with the crockery, banging out souffles
Eating thirds, doubling waistlines, seasonal pounds pack
Merry-making, sozzled so in the festive mood
Baking anything that has a beat, even snails
Expending on material goods till it's rude
Receiving presents, swapping cards and vintage tales
Finally it has arrived,
In spite of my imprecations
Right on time, precisely,
Same as every year and the next,
To start the accursed descent~
Damned cold weather
Arriving in time to nature's clock,
Yet the sun still shines.
Oddly the stars stay bright,
Far off in pristine beauty~
Aught they not weep with me
Under winter moon's cold light?
Too many nights will pass
Until spring's right equinox,
Marking the world with promise
No more cold weather!
Feelings flowing
All over my spirit, sending
Light and love, lavishing me with
Laughter that feels like nature’s symphony!
September came in like a sombre whirlwind,
Eclipsing the deadening blossoms of summer.
Pallid moonlight coats glistening frost,
That coats the last strands of grass holding on.
Embers of a pagan pyre swirl through the air,
Mass ritualistic hymns ring across realms,
Breaching otherworldly barriers,
Evoking sacred cosmic rites,
Resurrecting scattered souls.
Falling bodies collapse to the slaughter,
As one soul is given in exchange for another.
Loss begets loss;
Lightning suddenly surges through the skies,
Signalling completion of an unholy ritual.
Silent leaves, whooshing in serene showers
Easy to guess forests are born of hope
Pretty hues in gold, rum, toasted flowers
Tempting souls blessed by soft rains who shan’t mope
Endless nights spent with stars, gentle and bright,
Melodies of harvest stirring our hearts,
Bringing life to verses autumn will write
Ever awed by grandeur when the spice starts
Resulting in pumpkins, apples and more
Flavors of golden crispness in the air
Amazing gifts from God that I adore
Lingering inside, a grateful prayer
Laughing ensigns of grace so astounding
Season of still, cool wonders, resounding
Drying up raindrops on window panes,
Accumulations of wet puddles in spring.
Yielding ample ripe fruits of hope on
Saturnine days; adding a touch of warmth
To frigid-cold winter, to the autumn breeze,
And ushering in halcyon days of summer.
Radiant sun, shining bright through the seasons
Jovial month shines resplendent,
Unable to hide the fluttering fervour.
Lighting up broken dreams stuck into dark hearts.
Yachts sailing through awaken minds brimming with youth.
Incredible warmth at October’s end kisses GoddesS
Nature, and the only thing I can think about is yoU
Do you recall the time we first met so like a dreaM?
I saw you, and a poem inside me started to blooM.
A calm like that beautiful day began to caress mE.
Nestled in your arms, I lingered in sweet wondeR.
Autumn sings her spirited solo.
Ululating in a heightened voice,
Teasing with Her best and brightest show.
Undulating leafy skirts, loud choice.
Mindful of the season’s pleasant flow.
Never short on reason to rejoice.
Syncopating with gust and low breeze
Only accentuate Her beauty.
Notice the gorgeous gemstones ease
Accentuating Her costumery.
Tunefully serenading tones that please
Accepting the ardor of Her duty.
A time to go back to school
Understand rain is warm or cool.
The pinecones fall to the ground.
Up in the sky lovely views are found.
Many leaves are red and yellow.
November is cold, not mellow.
All blazing hues throwing ochery golden gowns
Under azure blues with fluffy cotton wool clouds
Temperatures in dip feeling two seasons in meld
Undulations shape shift teasing ones naked eye
Momentary captures seeing wildlife amidst such
Natures many blooms rich giving's Midas touch
Autumnal she is displaying talents of no bounds
Lasting impressions, season's, differences found
As crisp or tart, she favors my cookbooks
Perfect dessert whether October or June
Pumpkin's cousin, come autumn is overlooked
Luckily, any month, week or afternoon
Every season, the sweet apple fills my spoon

Simply slow day
Uniquely made for fun
Mark the Summer’s way,
Manipulating the winds to
Even and slow as they
Reluctantly slink away.
Twilight brings a chill and
Opines its continuing will.
Alabaster moons
Underscore the darkness,
Turn stars to balloons.
Uniting as one mark,
Melding and moving,
Nature proudly approving.
