Notes About The Poem

December Days - West Indian Style

Dusting, as if Second Advent is Christmas Day
Entertaining, from abundance or for mere lack
Cooking with the crockery, banging out souffles
Eating thirds, doubling waistlines, seasonal pounds pack
Merry-making, sozzled so in the festive mood
Baking anything that has a beat, even snails
Expending on material goods till it's rude
Receiving presents, swapping cards and vintage tales

I really like this. I thought she said 20 lines but maybe I got that wrong. Maybe it was 20 lines as a limit!

Maybe... I was just excited by the prompt. I'm glad you enjoyed it. We had sea snails one December. It was an experience. I never had them before. It wasn't bad, but I wouldn't try that again. I don't eat any meat anymore.
