Notes About The Poem

First Day of Autumn

Finally it has arrived,
In spite of my imprecations
Right on time, precisely,
Same as every year and the next,
To start the accursed descent~

Damned cold weather
Arriving in time to nature's clock,
Yet the sun still shines.

Oddly the stars stay bright,
Far off in pristine beauty~

Aught they not weep with me
Under winter moon's cold light?
Too many nights will pass
Until spring's right equinox,
Marking the world with promise
No more cold weather!

I hear you and agree with you...I'm not a cold weather fan. That being said, I found your poem captivating, especially Same as every year and the next, To start the accursed descent~
