Premium Member We Never Said Goodbye

Contest: The Unseen Poetry
Prompt: The thing that was never said
Sponsor: Sotto Poet

She had to leave the country suddenly.
Niether she nor I chose for it to be this way.
There was this thing that was never said.
There is an aching inside the soul when there's
Someone to whom you never got to say goodbye.

I did not realize it at the time,
But in short order, I was certain that
The relationship was not meant to be.
Still, there was this thing that was never said.

Strangely enough, a similar occurrence happened
A second time. There was a brife romance that
Did not continue for very different reasons. We
Were like a plane that never got airborne. The
Love was intack, but the facts quietly spoke and
said, 'No'. We parted company and chose not
To say goodbye.

Again, for different reasons, under different
circumstances, there was this thing that was
never said. We never said, "Goodbye".

THINGS I NEVER SAID

I never told her I loved her;
Back then I was much too shy.
Always fearing rejection,
I let opportunities pass me by.

I thought she was too good for me,
I wouldn’t stand a chance.
And that she’d only laugh at me
If I asked her for a dance.

I bumped into her yesterday,
Her family in tow
And we got to chatting of
Those school days long ago.

She said, “I have a secret,
That no-one ever knew.
All the time we were at school,
I really fancied you.”

Premium Member The Thing I Never Said

For you are nevermore.
Your eyes' last light
never illumined mine.
Death prompted us
to be hasty -
curbed childhood,
sped me past stop signals,
headlong onto adult carousels.
But we must agree over how these hours are
moving against our wills.
I've remained still until here,
grasping a rumpled-up grocer's receipt
with this budget-buy, multicolor pen
confident of words
I have space to admit now
and bury in poetry's
kinetic cemetery.
I'm sure I loved
your faulty teeth's scattered English,
its determined guidance.
I wished my life
had been adequate
to cover your shortfall
as you had covered mine
back when I was all but novelty.

Premium Member You Said Goodbye

I believe In my heart
You're done with me
The future we planned
I guess will never be

The love we once shared
It is now all gone
And too soon for me
You will be moving on

If you ever cared for me
It's impossible for me to tell
You're out there living life
I'm here living in hell

You still smile everyday
While everyday I only cry
I was the only one damaged
When you said goodbye

Premium Member The Night She said no

That night was a long and lonely night
A night to be much remembered
It was the right she said no to me
No to the love and affection I had for her
As i sat down reflecting on that
The words she said to me came to mind
She said "baby am sorry, sweetheart it's all over"
It was a night like never before
It was a night of long knives

I gathered the shred pieces of my heart
And I told myself it may be the end of us
but it was not the end of the world
I better get hold of myself and get moving
With a mended heart there are many possibilities
The night she said no became a watershed in my life

Premium Member The End of August

You may find it’s all been said
What you mean to say
But it sounds not too bad
In your own sweet way
You may look out with no aim
Scanning the familiar view
But it isn’t quite the same
For today the morning dew
Burns the leaf it occupies
With the dazzling sun
Welcome to the silent cries
As if you are young
But not near that comprehensive
As the youngsters are
Maybe little over-pensive
With your mind too far
From the problems of today
Too close to the past
Saying what you have to say
Once again too fast..

Premium Member They Said Five Hundred

I said I'd do it myself
one branch at a time

I bought a house
and invested in a life
seven years ago, here

The storm was small
but strong enough
to break the tree in half

I am forty
I like a challenge
once in a while

Bitter end of July
and I'm hauling logs
and smiling

Either:

the devil is afraid I'll take over
or God will laugh when I ask
"Can I come in?"

The ankh said Anubis had been fabricated

Drawing the piper's ankhs over the fire whistled these words, that Anubis was fabricated a war of the worlds, but never have see the day then, like open amphoras that last by the daybreak, open Egypt to the masses, the crypts speak of Anubis even if we can't accept that.

The long hum is silent to some but deadly said the wolf

The hymn like the hum
but the hum silent to some
One spreads like them both

Premium Member A GYPSY DANCE

Dad said I was a moving,
my feet and body was a grooving.
At three in dance school.
moves that were very cool.
Dance in my body and soul,
a gypsy dance or rock-n- roll.
My feet,
dance floor they will eat.

Premium Member A voice said cry out.'

And i said what shall i cry out.? He answered all flesh is as grass and its
Goodlieness is as the flowers of the
Field.! In this wasteland of hard-drives
Of blue light screens..Of wires and modems of pc correctness.' Of soullessness i call out day and night.' I
The stranger and the alien among you
A forigener and a man of forigen
tongue ( i am from you yet not of you )
A sojourner among you.'
I cry out of the Glory of God, and the depravity of the current and former world
All the hills will be made low.' And every valley raised up there will be no hiding place from Gods revelation..
Its being fullfilled as i speak, as knowledge is fully
Available more and more on Gods Truth
And satans miss-information.! Awaken oh
Sleepers!!! And let the Light of Jesus shine upon you.' I witness not of myself
But of He who holds the sun and moon in
His hands ' be not found asleep when He comes.!

Premium Member The Unicorn Said to the Rhino

The unicorn said to the rhino,
"You're fat, and your horn doesn't shino."
The rhino shot back,
"Existence you lack,
You're fake, and as dead as a dino."

Love Said Part II

In dating and relationships

-------------------Fermata:---------------------
He was raised to believe that marriage is an affordability, where partners enter and agree to be at least faithful in acquisitions and procreation and such.As it where from her point of view a man needed to afford her as she wished and required certain thing, like her insectary required her to be person to what she believed she deserved..

He didn't believe such and said he barely even knew her and, she'd been evasive and excluded herself from doing certain things. Her believed she was using him, and he said that a right to be first, in there exclusive partnering entitled him certain things that he wished from her. From sub zero to zero wasn't easy he said , yet from zero to were ever they where then was the hardest obstacle he'd ever endured. He told her all he felt for her was love. He refused to be the guy who stood there and watched while others spoke of her as there's in unprofessional collaboratives.

Premium Member The Mouse who Said More than Squeak

A mouse addressed a cat who thought him meek.
"Listen up", he said, "as forcefully, I speak".
Today, a statue of that mouse I sculpt,
as he looked before he once was gulped.
Hail the mouse who said much more than "Squeak".

Themitism

it aint about you and Me
nothing to do with us
probably something
she wishes to see
it that kind of such and such
the clarity of expression
her whisper weighted words
Susurrus the hushed moments of the crowd

Where takedown, spawl reversal pin
means something Epicurus
gains the fall
Technical prowess
solved the debate with a clear and decisive pin.
Susurrus the hushed moments of the crowd

Rutilant he stands in a glory she describes as
"ultramodern"
previous struggle altars your path
in the second where you are defined as best
highly visible, celebrated triumph
Susurrus the hushed moments of the crowd
Acciaccatura presides the mordent
Susurrus the hushed moments of the crowd
a battuta defines the phrase
