Premium Member Beneath the knots of time hidden in fallen planks

Beneath the knots of time hidden in fallen planks,
Feet dangle, shattered by the shadow of oblivion.
Through an eyebrow of sun clothed in pollen and decline,
A hand strikes a bargain to see how light spins a new face,
A shadow play mimicking that all is sublime—
Will the morning be born with another chance at rebirth?
Deep are the marks of denial that weigh down my efforts,
In the tomb of night's silence, I find myself a fortress.
Abandoned in thought to rise from the prayer of the evening,
I reject the bitter pulp of disillusionment that poisons my palace,
Love has left me with yellowed skin, a testament of solitude.
Moved by the peace of the darkness that enwraps the blinded sky;
A queen in a black onyx gown with a crown on display.
Cleansing my strength through the weakness revealed,
I regain elegance through the Spirit Father — I felt you guiding me in the night.
The cool balm of twilight for my scorched wounds,
You witnessed my ascent towards dawn;
Rising above the fissures of insanity,
It is as you said it would be—I am alive,
Enriched by the supreme gift of existence.

Premium Member The True Story of Little Pop

It was on one early summer morn
that the voice of a watchful Mama Corn
told a frightful story, meant to warn
her son, Pop, just recently born.

"Pop", it said, her darling boy to save,
"Once, in a cornfield, I too would wave.
In the sun and breeze, I was brave,
but you must listen up and behave.

You're a special kind of corn you see,
the 'zea mays everta' variety,
in everyday speech, 'popping corn'.
You should be proud, but I forewarn:

Special dangers lurk for folks like us
You're old enough now, we can discuss.
If, at the door, your darling greets you
for a movie date, she wants to eat you.

All corn loves to dance in the hot sun,
but be careful how you have your fun.
If you go to the beach from dawn to dusk,
please remember to wear your husk."

Instead of listening with respect and fear,
Little Pop would not lend his...ear?
So, while his mother's ghost did beseech,
the sun popped Pop all over the beach.

Premium Member Blue Light Special In Aisle Three

valentines shopper, there is a blue light special in Aisle Three
Gloria had no idea what this announcement could be.
but she raced to three to see toilet paper on sale for $1.95.
she tossed in two packages on top of her kitty cat Clive.

valentines shopper, there is a blue light special in Aisle Four
Gloria spun her cart and hurried to the aisle next door.
the special was dog food, which you could buy for a dollar off.
we don’t need it! We don't have a dog! Clive said with a scoff.

the next blue light special was in aisle twenty-three that day.
Clive was forbidding his mistress from heading that way.
they came home dissatisfied, with unusable stuff in their cart.
Clive said “Buying a bunch of junk we don’t need is your art.”

Premium Member Nobody Likes a Thief

They say there are some people,
Who only a mother could love;
People who lie and cheat and steal,
At length folks will say That's Enough.

Real friends won't steal from each other.
Their families can trust them too.
If you have one ounce of dignity,
Stealing just isn't you;

And you can steal more than mere money,
Possessions, material things,
You can steal a reputation.
Without that you haven't a thing.

A good reputation's important,
If we're to have quality of life.
If you can't hold your head up wherever you go,
It cuts through your heart like a knife.

So speak ill of no one no matter what,
And mind your own business my friend.
Keep your hands off that which is not yours,
And you'll have more friends in the end.

Who wants to hide all their things from you?
When you come all you bring is grief;
For when all's said and done a gossip is hated,
And nobody likes a thief.

Premium Member Finding Inner Peace

She used to think she should have but she did not
Living with regrets from one side of the house to another
They followed her home and built a wall around her world

A friend who never held back, who lived her truth, who said what she meant
Got murdered

This got her to thinking
that life is short

So she began to say what she felt she should say
She began living the life she wanted to live
She turned her life around

Doing and saying what felt right in her heart
Not overthinking how others might take it

As a consequence, she began to like herself more
and others liked her better also.

Inner peace was had
thanks to a sad death of a friend

When your heart is saddened

I'll never forget

I'll never forget ...the day we met
that very moment, I first saw you!!
I'll never forget... the things you said
the words unspoken, how your lips moved!!

I'll never forget...the things you do
those tender moments, so precious and few.
I'll never forget the life we had,
How we were happy, before it all went bad.

Bridge
I'll never forget you- you brought me to life
How could I forget you-how did our love die?

Chorus
Let me be the one-you think about,
whenever you are alone,
Those few times- when you may regret
letting your heart roam
On those nights when you feel scared,
and so abandoned.
Maybe then, you'll think of me,
when your heart is saddened

I'll never forget... the day you left,
The sun was shining, but, somehow it felt cold.
I'll never forget... the love we made,
cause only the memories, are what remain.

Bridge
I'll never forget you- you brought me to life
How could I forget you-how did our love die?

Chorus
Let me be the one-you think about,
whenever you are alone,
Those few times- when you may regret
letting your heart roam
On those nights when you feel scared,
and so abandoned.
Maybe then, you'll think of me,
when your heart is saddened

Bridge
I'll never forget you- you brought me to life
How could I forget you-how did our love die?

Chorus
Let me be the one-you think about,
whenever you are alone,
Those few times- when you may regret
letting your heart roam
On those nights when you feel scared,
and so abandoned.
Maybe then, you'll think of me,
when your heart is saddened

Premium Member Animals Are Such a Gift

animals are such a gift
we can share love and devotion
with their lives as part of ours
Mom said they were God's gifts
and she kept the law
they were to eat first
of course, she was from the farm
where they were morning's chore
before the family returned
to the breakfast table
I keep that law close to my heart
the morning begins the clack of her bowl
brings Abby meowing at my feet
she is anxious to begin her day
while I struggle with wakefulness
and at this age balance is a concern
she will have a choice of meats
later on I will add a treat
I will have coffee and computer time
before I make my meal
then we settle into writing
or listening to some lecture
on some subjects, I wish to study
and she will adorn my lap
we spend the day loving each other
Descartes believed animals' biological machines
sad his mother never taught him
they are precious gifts from God
he missed out on life's great pleasure
the love and devotion that is life
in those paws waiting for me
as morning calls the duty
who must eat first

Premium Member Black Woman

I will never forget you. Bus. Beautiful. Walk home
The feeling. The travelling. Your aura. Bomber lady

From London to Paris. A way to Budapest. By bus
Oh, the night landscape was so nice. Friend the glass

Amazing. I love. I loved. Enjoyed. Her honest life
She said, Can I sleep? I watched her. Black woman.

I didn’t say anything. She leaned into my lap. Woman
Beautiful. Womanly lady. Perfect shape. Black. African

This happened in the last seats. Right was the side
Oh, beaten, my heart. But I didn’t get the love. Hmm

I didn’t want. No. I don’t do that with a woman. Slept
Sleepy was. This woman. I felt her for my baby. Girl

Young. Young child. Hmm. Hmm. She was a mature
Whole. Perfect. Not a lady. The woman. The wished

Hmm. I was happy. Very. A lady came to me. Doesn’t
Matter her nationality. Hmm. She was honest. Lovefully

We travelled to Paris. She needed sleep. A hand. Love
Daughter. Nice lady. I loved. Her. Magnetic. A black diamond

The bus arrived. A beautiful black lady slept on me. She gone
Hmm. Get off. She. Then I. Yes. I stayed alone. No woman

I watched her. She walked far. The bus driver smiled. I was sad
Hmm. No woman again. Left. I needed. Her. Dream. I believed

A life
A new
I needed you

Hmm
Black diamond
You walk far
Black Woman
A style

I will never forget you
The heart
I respect
Always
You

Marching On

Like wounded soldiers they walked down the street, carrying their bullet less guns on their shoulders leaving a war that is not yet over, their marred with sweat and tears drips from their swollen face, it is not victory or defeat but they must separate themselves from the fleet.

With battered bodies and broken bones they journey towards their celestial home, with a rancid stench seeping from their breath, and a bashful frown leading them toward a woeful death.

They come from various clans and multiplied all over the land, many of them were slaughtered like trapped sheep in the land; they are no match for an army carrying tons of artillery, rockets, missile and automatic weapon .

The wounded soldiers were placed on the frontline without handguns and grenades, without trenches or barricade and so the bullets from the sky rained upon their head leaving blood spilling all over the street.

Like wounded soldiers they marched on to a place of nothingness, going to place where no home exist, burnt out buildings’ and charred body left in the street and the wind carried the stinking aroma and deposit it in the sea. There is no sign of life, and even the trees have to pay a woeful sacrifice, animal and beast lie down dead and there was no one to bury the dead so they kept marching on.

The other side was bursting with life, traffic was flowing up and down the street and some people went shopping for meat. The smell of freshly brewed coffee perfumes the atmosphere and the smell of fresh baked bread tempted their appetite.

People were having a feast and others were dancing in the street, the markets were busy the malls were overcrowded and life became alive in that city but they kept marching on.

They came to the roundabout, and converge underneath a big tree, nothing was happening there but they had something dynamic to share, the leader pulled out a map and everyone was shocked.

He circles some points and said. “we are crossing over there”, we are going to take this city be surprise with just a butcher and a knife and so the wounded soldiers cross on the other side in dead heat of the night and took the entire city by surprise with just a knife.

Premium Member Nineteen Credible Witnesses

How many credible witnesses?
Nineteen, sir.
Descriptions similar?
Not even close.

Hair color match?
Five
Five different hair colors?
Five matched.

Sergeant flips open his notebook.
black, gray, brown, blonde, red, bald, afro, not sure….
Eye color? Did the witnesses agree on that?
“Two of them did.”
The sergeant gave the young detective a mean look.
“I will speak to them myself,” he said.

They were on their parent’s laps, kindergarteners.
“Did you see the guy?” He asked the first little girl.
She nodded.
“What did he look like?”
“He was a green unicorn with a fluffy pink tail.”
