Rowing Through The Pain

Row, Row, Row your boat gently down the stream
Merrily, Merrily, Merrily, Merrily life is but a dream

Row, Row, Row your boat why can’t I scream
Merrily, Merrily, Merrily, Merrily perfections not how it seems

Row, Row, Row your boat forever never ends
Merrily, Merrily, Merrily, Merrily my pain never mends

Over, Over, Over again until I

Rowing took my muse away

Rowing took my muse away,
but gave me abs of steel.
Erging less, now what’s the deal?
Seems I have some to say. 

Brains deprived of oxygen
can’t seem to find a verse
and then to make these matters worse,
seems sugar is my gin. 

I’ve a got little fat again
upon the waist, between the ears.
Melodic verses I do hear;
instead of

Rowing Upstream and Downstream

     Rowing downstream is one of life’s grandest pleasures
        while upstream’s difficulty is quite hard to measure

     You’ve got to dip those oars in right tight to the boat
        and if you're ahead

Rowing

My spirit released
	set free to fly
seeking in wonder
	what I do not know

so long ago
	so far from I
when for time
	they went down to the sea

bending the back
	a smooth strong pull
and gathering breath
	 in a foreword lean
	
beneath open sky
	among the waves
for how many days
	how many weeks

I strongly pull
	another stroke
and I wonder
	about them

what did they think
	upon the sea
as

Hauling by Rowing

Twilight swallowed me, striking me speechless 
      With subtle caress of a wicked breeze 
      Stirring the surge, I drift inwardly
      And wild geese soar home

Growing

G-rowing 
is rowing
keeping the balance 
towards the light!

Our fathers row
when we are children.
We observe how
they do it.

As we grow,
we have to
do the rowing.
Harder than it seemed.

Difficult to
keeping balance.
We fight against 
the current.

Until one day,
we learn to enjoy the rapids,
Letting the current take us.
Without much effort.

Time goes by
the current grows stronger.
We are reaching the sea
some fear

Rowing Team

the team rows in unison
sense of honor
feeling accomplished
the sun begins to slide into the sea
and still they row
not knowing anything better to do with today

I Remember That We Rowed, You Were Afraid

I remember that we rowed.
You were afraid.
And so, I gave the oars to you,
I thought, you see – control
Would help you feel

Rowing Fundamentalists Over Baptism

Fundamentalist Christians row over piecemeal things, 
Over whether baptism is required for heavenly sings,

Thunderous silence in fresh mountain air
Dragonflies land on a mirrored flat lake. 
A trout breaks the surface with but a swirl
Hushed morning stopping to rolling vast cheer.
Eight boats of rowers united in curl
Sixty-four faces combined in their ache
