Image DuJour

Reimagine the future
honor the past
Live in the moment
first ever last

Change the perspective
fences destroyed
Polar invectives
cursed to employ

The baby and bathwater
image du jour
Becoming the instant
your lens is secured

Honor the future
reimagine the past
Live beyond either
— your essence recast

The Real You

Maybe it is not fair,
that I have been
clinging to an idea of you—

because maybe
the real you—tempered between
my fits of desires and invention—
carries less music,
walks a busier street,
is too mundane—too prosaic
to haunt me the way
my dreams cruelly
reimagine you.

To the Moon and Back

ill drive down the highway at one eighty two
you'll say that'll we'll die but i know that can't be true
cause the strings and the signs of fate pulled us together
and they won't tear us apart for as long as i'll remember
the moon in the sky is so far away
in a big pit of darkness we call outer space
yet you always say you'll go there and back
cause our love will shine through the black
i love you too the moon and back is what you'd always say
and now your gone it's what i'll say every single day
how could I have let you go without knowing i feel the same way
I think about telling you more and more each day
hand in hand and lip on lip is what i reimagine
just you and me and a little tree that i've already planted

please fly on your rocket to one of Jupiter's many moons
to save me from falling out of love with you
you say you never knew that's what my heart reflected
I guess my eye's lie more than I expected
my heart tells my brain what it doesn't want to hear
so my brain mutes my heart, my thoughts and feelings cleared
leaving room for nothing and no-one as you were once near
your presence once filled the void and all it left were tears

Its your Birthday!

Its your B’day,
Time to be Happy & gay.
Put on that lovely smile & walk that extra mile!
After all the cakes you bake,
The calorie counter is at stake!

Lay down the boots, drop the shoulder.
Take rest, let the mind wander.
alas it’s your day,
Give the ADDA team a break,
Your dedication is doing wonders,
ADDA is growing stronger…

Whip up a Ganache, make a turnover,
Apple or pineapple –nah, do it with durian when not sober!
Deconstruct a pavlova, reimagine an opera,
A pinch here, a dash there,
A drizzle, a flambe…
Life’s boring- create some melodrama!

Dance a tune, declutter the mind,
Don’t play mommy tonight!
The Girls are teens now,
Let them loose today, don’t raise a brow!

Ask Hubby to be at his best,
Toast a bubbly & forget the rest!
Alas, it’s your B’day,
& You deserve the very best!

Work

Words
Are not sufficient to express
The devastation waves that crashes
Into a dead wish

Exhaustion
Engulf the body of cocooning tiredness
To sprawl upon hard cold surfaces
Reimagine arms around

Cognizane
The lack thereof
Or rather the insufficient energy
Of helplessness wailing

Heat
The boilover pits of Dante's Inferno
Trickling forlorn perspire
Puff of hot breaths suffocatingly pants

Numb
Glazed vacant eyes pumps fuel
Creaking of vector gears
Dumb words spill as arbituary normalcy
Deadpan disguised as half truths

If words were to be expressed,I chose to be silent
If exhaustion means to live,I rather be dead
If to be held down and abide, I rather grovel while i weep
If heat is a normal occurance in a lifetime,I rather freeze to death
If my intelligence precedes your understanding,I rather play dumb

Descartes Reborn

If consciousness dies
is that all there is
or does some higher state
reimagine what was

When consciousness dies
will birth reoccur
no longer indentured
to time and its spurs

If consciousness dies
do rainbows of light
take over our essence
transcending our sight

When consciousness dies
is confusion bereft
as reference get buried
—and prescience resets

For Just Once

If your courage lasted for
just an instant
Overriding your fear,
all excuses behind
If one choice you made
could then reimagine
A world once illusioned
—stepping out of your dreams

And Rome Vainly Waited For His Return

On sunny days walk beneath the aesthetic pine trees
that gently undulate in the tepid Roman breeze,
their image is reflected in the Tiberius' flowing water;
majestic is the Colosseum, the mighty power of Rome,
it has withstood time, wars, earthquakes, and pillage...
stand in front of it and reimagine emperor Nero, so fair,
inciting the crowds to hail him as a god while they caught his bread:
what was his real reason for burning Rome: madness, anger, or dread?

Did Virgil, the Mantovian poet, love and admire Rome
when Augustus ruled the empire and was worshiped?
No, he chose Naples to write the epic poem Aeneid
in a location that stunned, but he was too far from home!

The Campanian landscape was the perfect setting
as Virgil brought to life Aeneas, the Trojan captain, escaping
burning Troy to realize his fate and embark for Italy without doubting;
and Rome vainly waited for his return and hear his brilliant poem
in the Forum to amaze Caesar while senators applauded him!

Premium MemberCaring For Yourself

Luxurious lingering, lovingly lithe, lounging
Reposing, relaxed responsive respite
Enjoying enthusiastic exciting meditative moments
Replenish, rejuvenate and reimagine yourself
Necessary nirvana of niceness to face felonious friends
Who wander into your zone,
Unilaterally uncaring, and unconcerned,
That your feelings are important also.

Premium MemberTribute To Honnold

Right foot into this little dimple that you can toe in on aggressively so it’s opposing the left hand, then you can, like, zag over across to this flat, down-pulling crimp that’s small but you can bite it.
[From Honnold’s climbing notebook.]

For me, the most transcendental feat –
your smeared soles at Freeblast Slabs,
your shoulder jammed into Offwidth
and cardiac-kick at the Boulder
were: Inspirational; unimaginable.
We sit in theatre chairs white-gripping
our armrests and, too often, eyes closed.
Up on El Cap as much as we’ll e’er be,
We twist our bodies in synchrony.
We’ve seen how immeasurable
the possible; the achievable
of the inconceivable. At last,
an image beyond the past; a hero
of no vanquished enemy,
brawling limitless potentiality.
Following your lead, we reimagine
how we might ascend our vallied lives.

Premium MemberReal Is Thrown

The real is thrown'
Imaginations personable
False are the dreams
Awake yourself
 Realize the premise
 Border your thoughts
 Reimagine yourself
 You've grown
 Now you rest
 Real is caught
Get on the bus
Your real

Please Place Patience Upon My Palms

Why can’t you just be evil? Like my mind
wants you to be: Unfaithful, shameful.
I want to hate you! But you’re too kind
and no matter you are always thankful
of me and my song of desperation
for pain and its un-winnable future.
I know! A heart’s betrayal may come
disguised as death bringing this return
to memory of past regret, unyielding
regret, this plan of me my only way out.
Understand unending and what may be.
Believe in the certainty of two hearts.
Trust in the flesh and the way it feels
on fingertips, lips... Trust love—it is real.

Damn You, Adam

Adam’s Garden yeilds a tree
Grown from the roots of Hell
Rare Forbidden fragrant fruit
On golden branches; Rapture fell
But Adam stepped one fig away
From Satan’s dying Curse
This world remained a Paradise
And Eve escaped the pain of birth!
No ghastly storms for Noah
With Arc afloat in driven rains
No frantic fear of drowning
Forty nights and some odd days
Cain would not slay Abel
No Tower found in Babel
Seeds of Life were never planted
Generations never born
No Sins in need of repentance
Nor Judgment days in Heaven
To receive their final sentence
The highest price was paid
For Adam's abstinence

Great poetry requires
finesse and rhyme,
this impatient poetess
gives it her time.

Poetry needs heart
and soul and tears,
I showed you what
was hidden for years.

Poetry requires thoughts
running free on the page,
you were the key
that unlocked my cage.

Poetry has a rhythm
if given a chance,
you were the one
who asked me to dance.

I give it my all
with time and finesse,
and together with heart
have made a success.

Written for Just That Archaic Poet's contest -
"Reinvent, Reimagine, Revamp!"
Inspired by his poem, "You and I and I and You"

(My interpretation was "opposites attract". I am the total opposite personality of what a poet should be. Yet, poetry and I get along great!)

In the Shade - Contest

There is a place deep inside
Where pain and suffering reside

Visions live happily within
Seeking a life without pain and sin

Musical sounds help salve his pain
Till the magical day he is well again

Unfortunately he has to rest in bed
To help cure the sickness in his head

Until that day his tolerance fades
Sunny smiles are left in the shade.
