We

Great poetry requires
finesse and rhyme,
this impatient poetess
gives it her time.

Poetry needs heart
and soul and tears,
I showed you what
was hidden for years.

Poetry requires thoughts
running free on the page,
you were the key
that unlocked my cage.

Poetry has a rhythm
if given a chance,
you were the one
who asked me to dance.

I give it my all
with time and finesse,
and together with heart
have made a success.

Written for Just That Archaic Poet's contest -
"Reinvent, Reimagine, Revamp!"
Inspired by his poem, "You and I and I and You"

(My interpretation was "opposites attract". I am the total opposite personality of what a poet should be. Yet, poetry and I get along great!)

Poetry is like a best friend to me. It is that one person who will listen and therefore, set your voice free, but it can also become like a passion and an addiction.... Thank you for your lovely comments, Paul. I appreciate it very much :)

Cleverly done! I love your style, and your infinite imagination. (One of the reasons I was drawn to your work is the rhythm and short 'e' consonance of your name.) Good luck in the contest. Keith

Thank you for the compliment on my name! I haven't had a comment about that before. I have never noticed that "e" is the only vowel in my name. Except for my middle name!
