REHEARSAL
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
my mind, a ballet dancer,
my thoughts in constant rehearsal.
each idea is poised
at the barre of consciousness,
leg extended, muscles trembling.
some are fouettés, sharp and quick,
a flurry of solutions,
a staccato burst of inspiration,
others, adagio, slow and deliberate,
a sustained arabesque of contemplation,
held by the strength of quiet observation.
there are moments of stillness, too,
a gentle plié, a pause in the music,
a chance to gather strength before the next grand jeté.
They forbid my travels, and money transfers
A hostage of criminal times
To all that is negative I am immersed
Expectedly drowning in wine
You are lucky to stay at the positive side
It’s an obvious thing to admit
A sort of dialectical suiside
Which I often forget to commit
Exhausted, I’m lying in bed the whole day
Eyes closed, but I’m not sleeping
It’s the rehearsal of rest and I play
My part, till the darkness creeps in
Then I see multicoloured ripples
Through the water they drift me away
The moleculas dance happy rituals
Escourt me to where I should lay.
Covid was a piece of driftwood in our psychic stream.
A dress rehearsal for the landslide that's coming.
To sweep us from our good dream.
An appetizer before the seven-course rapture.
It is written in our coffee-ringed bibles.
These prophecies cannot be undone.
We are caught up in the current of one global currency, economy.
The darkest of the darkest entities.
Armies are aligning aside the river Styx.
Around the dome of the golden rock.
Pieces of the temple are gathering.
The antichrist will proclaim he's God.
Demanding all bow down to his whim.
Some will be sated and seduced
donning the number of the damned,
Some will shimmer in unbowed faith
and be saved by the blood of the lamb.
As a dancer one day
I was in love to to be dancing.
As a dancer one day,
my feet couldn't stand on.
Rehearsing for hours for nothing,
but bleeding,
on a dance permormance
I couldn't be anymore.
The dance of dances
for me has reached the end.
My dance shoes still feet me
but the steps don't feet
my shoes to keep dancing on
the big stage to be dreaming.
Under the limelight
I want to disappear
to be dancing all my life
the dance of dances
I couldn't do in front.
Their blushing cannot be suppressed
Green tomatoes have this protest:
Lettuce fresh out of bed
Turns us shades of red
When we watch that salad get dressed
Could this life just be a dress rehearsal for a weary soul?
Do we travel thru so many lives until we meet our goal?
Perhaps our massive egos are adept at deceiving.
Should we mourn when a person is born
and celebrate their leaving?
A step towards crowning perfection,’
Notions of luck much like infection;
Before a show drop that conception:
Talents grow with good self-perception…
Blunders men should reduce to zero:
The only way one seems a hero.
You don’t harden your heart like Pharaoh;
Awaits one the poor record of Nero…
Artistes crave a resounding applause.
Why would one pander away a plus?
For a standing ovation give cause;
Regrets about shows could fill a bus…
What the wise does against a display,
For which eyes are cocked, no more a play,
Falls of leaping feet should just tally:
The correcting forum for Sally…
All the slips of the tongue during speech
The timely oratory would breach;
Always, Rehearsal runs the tight ship
Of firm seekers of watchers’ worship.
Two dancers
embrace on destiny’s floor.
Their dance
started in youth
moves them apart
into other arms.
Their music
carries the message;
they are still in step
to be united again
and end rehearsal
for the next dance.
Jill just purchased Universal Christ for me.
We will be reading it in our virtual Bible
Study class on Thursday mornings.
Universal Rehearsal With A Dispersal
was universal
when we had a rehearsal
then a dispersal
great songs supplying
singing was death defying
chorus started crying
with much style and grace
up from storm ourselves did brace
By water beach would lace
poem we want to find
so sincere with peace of mind
by God which was signed
down we both were bogged
while water did fall on log
became water logged
when I went to mass
by God did let my sins pass
had caught a big bass
always were afraid
when through water had to wade
by God for me made
is from VMI
was always my kind of guy
is on short supply
Dispersal of Rehearsal
was universal
when he had a rehearsal
biden dispersal
The tempest kiss of seaweed miss.
Her temper heard ~ his heart stirred.
His ship astern and fast.
The siren’s scorn lambaste;
Blind youth’s reality is blurred.
The satin hair of Whitney bright
A pearlescent veil, the tide ~
Calm! Calm! It’s all a lie!
Her body movement spry.
O serpentine witch, her smile, her glide…
Her bright white fangs aglow, move slow.
The magic of her song moored
In his terrified glance;
The seaman’s in a trance.
In former life, he would have scored.
She slowly sucks his soul, and then,
One by one she tenders them.
The fishhooks through their eyes,
Amuse her with goodbyes.
REHEARSAL
Knees bent in plié
Pink chiffon twirls in chaîne
Shoe lost in dismay.
The way I could look into your eyes always amazed me,
I was never any good at that before, I think I will be again now.
My eyes emptied ten thousand times since,
It is good to know they have no bottom.
I was always so much taller when I held your hand.
Yet I willingly strived to grow, and I reached your level toward the end.
I took solace in a withered and crooked form,
It was uncomfortable and did not suit me.
For months I found your hair, your scent in an empty drawer,
Tried to hate you, myself, things you said.
I couldn't do it, nothing worked,
It conquers all, I am not a man of hate.
The bruised puffs of cotton are revealing the blue,
A flame haired light is beckoning warmth,
I can reach this now for I know my worth.
I learned it from the rain.
Rehearsal of Role Reversal
What he really did resulted in a role reversal,
We had remembered after another rehearsal;
After around nosing,
Started proposing,
A poor performance ending in crowd dispersal.
Currently composing poetry in my
practice-for-testing booklet
trying not to think about
the evening we first met.
I was wearing a comic-printed
top with these sandals that I hate,
you were playing with a soccer ball,
even when we ate.
Adults asked us both about college
while our fathers ate and talked and drank.
We paid little attention to each other
and for that I cannot thank.
Because I wish I had more time with you
before you got bored
and I got screwed.
