I stoked the fire, you drank the flame.
I poured out my soul, you ditched the game.
I'm gutted, bone dry, howling in pain -
You reeled me in, gave nothing back again.

Black hole love — you ripped me apart.
I'm holding the line, playing my part.
I gave and gave, you drained and drained.
How did our love become so unchained?

Oh Black Hole Love,
I Give, You Suck,
Getting nothing back, in return.
I'm calling All-in!
Black Hole Love, Black Hole Love.

You twist my pleas - I'm on my knees.
Let's play it straight, oh, baby please!
All I want is some fire back from you.
Not choking smoke on black strap blue.

I won't break for you, anymore.
I'm standing, knocking on your door.
I want to love you more and more.
You're the only one that I adore.

Oh Black Hole Love.
I Give, You Suck,
Getting nothing back, in return.
I'm calling All-in!

I won't break for you!
No more, No more!
Black Hole Love ...
Black Hole Love!

The Chasm of Creation

This is supposed to be my outlet.
Emotions I claim are tainted pour out of me,
And I call it art.
This is what recovering looks like.
Pages upon pages of words I’ve kept hidden from the world—
This is what healing looks like.
Feeling more and more,
Just so the inspiration continues,
Because,
Creating feels better than existing ever did.
So why is it,
That my emptiness grows ever deeper?
What was once a narrow hole,
Has grown into an empty chasm,
Leaving my body hollowed out and dry,
Letting scorpions crawl up my spine,
Searching for dews of joy,
That don’t exist.
In anger,
They prick my skin.
Hoping for a reaction,
Only to realize joy isn’t the only thing that’s absent.
Numbness replaces the mind and soul—
My growth has been stunted.
My thoughts have been reeled in.
Everything halted for a single drop of creation—
Was this really just an outlet?

INEEDAIR

Spaces filled with twisted views & useless opinions
Enemies dressed as friends, family and lovers
True friends cast in the shadow of anothers facade
The world blinded to their greatness
Flaws amplified by a thousand and one
By one to cover a thousand and one flaws
Told that I’m just a leaf in the breeze that hasn’t been let go
Shown that even your dreams will one day come along and unapologetically hurt you
Its my fault
Only after the flood...its all good while the faucets running
Water never bothered nobody that can swim
Sometimes drowning seems like winning
When surviving isn’t living
Breathing stale air dying slowly by my own poison
Masked before the necessity
inevitably
Now forced to be masked excessively
Not just physically include emotionally & mentally
Im hiding all of my rage behind the same smile that reeled you in
What worthwhile do we have left if caring becomes the sin

Premium MemberIn My Deepest Fantasies

Sudden was the descent of poetry on me
I tottered under its weight
My body heated up like the sun
A frying egg yolk on the pan
My blood started burning…. burning

A strange madness crept across my senses
Intoxicated as by an excess dose of ale
Or drunk with the vintage wine
Or by some mystical disengagement
I started levitating

Wings sprouted up suddenly on my sides
I reeled round and round
Flew up and up
Meteors flashed past
Stars blinked
Larger celestial bodies stood still
Strange sounds fleeted past my ears
My heart palpitated,
Like the rumblings of thunder
My eyes glowed like fire balls

A shout I heard afar
Over the heavens’ mysterious rim
Muffled though, I could decipher it;
“Welcome to the clan of poets”!
Around me, I saw multitudes of poets
Young and old, their faces blazing
Like a thousand lanterns lit
In that blinding brilliance
My filmy wings burnt outright!

Like Icarus, from the heights
I flopped down to the chasm below
In the scattered heap of flesh and bones
A faint stir …..
…………………..
The feeble flutter of a poetic heart
Before it was finally stilled!!

Premium MemberShe Took the Bait

I was having a beer at the bar then she walked in
It was more of a strut with the sway of her hips.
Her ruby red lips were made for kissing

In the mirror behind the bar
I caught her looking at me and raised my glass.
She waited a while before she sat beside me.

She ordered whiskey, neat
Smelled like lavender and honey and I'd bet money
she'd talk to me before I'd say a word to her.
I thought - 'which of us is using the best bait.'

I got a nibble when she asked what I was drinking.
I turned my head but all I said was, 'a cold one.'
Her great big gorgeous green eyes
would've caught me if I was a fish.

"Don't talk much, do you? Or maybe you have 'issues."
She questioned my "manhood."
I stood to adjust my pants and her eyes bit my fly.

I told her, "My eyes are up here."
She smiled as I reeled her in.

Premium MemberNature's Way

I see and feel things I've never seen and felt before.
Ever been arrested by a cactus blossom?
I'd never seen yellow as beautiful.
Ever been touched by the presence of a sunrise?
Or felt the awesome penetrating power of a sunset?
Or captured by a beautiful pink rose?
Roses are most stunningly delightful.

I see and feel things I've never seen and felt before.
Ever had a close-up look into the eyes of a squirrel?
Or beheld the staring and questioning eyes of a cat?
Ever seen an ant being reeled into the web of a spider?
The spider's eyes said, "Please stop invading my privacy".
Or rescued a bug from a Black Widow just before her breakfast?
A small step made a friend. A giant leap made an enemy.
I see and feel things I've never seen and felt before.

THE PIPER and HIS TUNES

At the crossroads
The bald old man
With his gray stricken beards
Caressed his antiquated flute
Perching on his cracked dehydrated lips
With his spindly fingers
As he nonchalantly reeled out his tunes
He started with the beautiful tune
Of the defiant bed bug mercilessly bearing down on the torso
As in a depraved Mamba choke hold
On it's gasping victim
Next was the leaching lice
Digging, sinking and sucking deeper
Into it's anemic victim
Then he played ringing in the ears
From renegade mosquitos
Next was a nation, it's people and politics of bitterness
Then he played a reclusive and resigned generation
Deserves the leaders they are saddled with
Next was the tune of the city called Sodom
Then he played the tune of "oh king pharaoh let my people go"
Finally, he graduated to the grand tune of: "he who fails to plan, plans to fail."

Premium MemberMen Beware

Jarvis was a goner the second he saw her bouncy hair
She recognized this and reeled him right into her lair
Her amber eyes gave him the stoplight green.
Jarvis from that moment was never again seen.

I hope it was worth it said his Arkansas kin.
I rolled my eyes, as this rolled out past their chin.
He never returned, was never again seen.
Beware of a witch who gives you a glance stoplight green.

Mirror Tell

Cause the
burn—of raked
shame—breaking glass,
not breaking anything.
The past

over—
reflection
just killed and reeled
back only; for you come
again.

Premium MemberDon't Fold Just Yet

I catch your eye, I move towards you
I'm reeled in by your stare
Not able, nor willing to resist
I'm caught inside your glare

The closer that I get to you
The more beautiful you become
Blood is coursing through my veins
Heart pounding like a drum

We're face to face
Electricity, my body is on fire
I feel your breath across my lips
I'm burning with desire

Passion wins, I give in
All consuming bliss
Our mouths then meet, two hearts, one beat
We play our hands and kiss

Premium MemberTrump Train Wreck

yesterday
watched men try to ride
in some graceful fashion
a flying, spinning, gyrating, horned beast
for eight seconds
probably should feel sorry
for the exploited beasts
but none of them grimaced in pain
and limped away cradling
an injured limb
however
there was this weird,
hornless, white as snow "thing"
lurched out, fell back on the chute,
reeled and tipped, almost falling,
then it bucked, finally
too late for any good
red flagged when he stumbled
out of the gate
that sorry freak of an animal
is half the rider's score
if he can't do his part
it's a re-ride (on something better)
correct for me
to pity that poor creature,
I know–but––really?
his name was Trump Train
I'm gonna go find an election prop
and bet all I can wager
his namesake
doesn't survive the primaries
Trump Train
yeah, right
more like
Trump Train Wreck

Premium MemberA Note In the Wind Nw

Humming a soft tune, came down the wind.
With airy fingers, it tousled my hair.
Rubbing its cold cheeks on mine,
It tickled me and reeled round
Tugging at my skirt like a naughty kid,
And amorously lifting it up like a lover
Like soft tendrils, it coiled all around me
Inviting me for a waltz

Between hushed breaths and murmured tones
It talked to me endless, whispering
Sweet nothings in my attentive ear

I felt love pouring down on me

I wished to cage it to enjoy its sweet company
But like an apparition, it disappeared into thin air!

I couldn’t follow its trail but as it passed,
I saw a tumbleweed trembling and falling
When I stood wondering where it had disappeared
I saw a note flying to me that read;

“I am friend and foe alike, you shall not know,
From where I come and to where I go”

Premium MemberSuch Sorrowed Grief

"I carry your heart with me
(I carry it in my heart)
        I am never without it.” - E. E. Cummings

A growing sense of expectation built;
The rabbit died, and we were on our way:
A room prepared, a sweet commissioned quilt,
A heartbeat on the ultrasound that day.

Time passed, then came the devastating news;
The drum of joy gone quiet on the field.
The loss, so palpable, did much confuse;
Completely caught off-guard, our senses reeled.

How could the little life I'd never seen
Evoke such sorrowed grief as I now felt?
A hole both in our hearts and on that screen,
An unexpected blow, like none ere dealt.

Two daughters since, both precious girls to me,
If she had gone full term, one might not be.

Premium MemberA Jolly Fisherman

In Rhyme for Children

The jolly old fisherman
Just had a dream
He was fishin' for mermaids
In this wide-shallow stream

He had fished for hours
And caught only a snag
Until the end of the day
When he reeled in a bag

The old plastic bag
Was covered in muck
And the jolly old fisherman thought
"Wow- that's just my luck"

Then he opened the bag
That was tightly concealed
With a letter inside
That he read and revealed

It read- "If you're fishing for mermaids
Then go fish in the sea
Go look for SpongeBob SquarePants...
"Cause that's where I'll be"
