You never were
that kind of father
So I could never be
that kind of son
You saw what you
wanted in others
But with us it was
all zero sum
I reacted to what
you were doing
And not to the bombast
you spread
As the rift ever widened
between us
Into canyons of anger
— and dread

Last week,
sorting through some mail,
I saw an ad that said
“Radio for sale,
only one dollar".
I thought "At last,
a real bargain", but then saw
“Volume stuck on blast".
At first, I reacted
with a frown,
but then thought
“I can't turn that down".
A flink of cows in Perrywood is being watched by a young falcon. And everyday the bird sees everyone of them, fascinated by their different colors. All cows noticed the young bird too, flying over them everytime they go out in the green fields.
A heifer said, "I wish I was a bird!"
Many cows heard her and smiled at her. All other cows gathered together and started wagging their ears and tails.
The same young, female cow reacted and said, "Tweet!"
riding a tractor
I reacted to its tread -
underneath put down
buried like a seed
watered and lit by the sun -
produced grateful fruit
what a shiny ride
blue skies, cotton clouds, straight back -
resistant to wind
troubles enhance croon
held up by the earth angels -
smiling at the youths
newbies want to ride
wisdom is reared on the seat -
knowingly, I pray
Not for shortage of stones did Stone Age end,
How a Saudi minister chose to fend
For Oil Age in some rage,
And yet, causing shortage,
Trump sure would render it a helping hand.

Note: In a game of cartels versus competition and self-interest, when UAE withdrew from OPEC cartel, a Saudi minister reacted as shown in this ditty. UAE’s decision is not altruistic in favour of completion, in larger good of the world still. Yet alas, cartels and self-interest are common all over the world—overt or covert.

For my four children I've been working Almost every day
There was never enough time to play with you
There were baseball games, dance recitals That you wanted me to come to
But with all the time working There was never enough time for any of you
On weekdays and weekends, I had to do my chores So it left very little time for you four
I may always say maybe the next time Which I might have said so many other times
Sometimes I had to work all night And I wouldn't see you to the next morning light
I know our lives are short, and days go by fast
And all your children grow up in a flash
Then I finally realized that my children Are no longer by my side And now I no longer have to provide
I still have pictures I can still look at Showing me the past and the laughter
I'm retired now and once I was so busy Now all my body and hands are still
And for me, these days are too quiet and hard to kill
I wish I could go back into the past And change all the ways I reacted
And for my four grown children I want to say I'm sorry, and I want to say you are all One in a million and I love you all
Once I was wandering in my backyard to scan the previously latent place,
The ongoing search was for a rare herb blessed with divine grace.
My senses compelled me to go each step forward in slow but steady pace,
That place was so silent and latent that something unknown was creeping in solace.
A Sudden break of silence with hissing sounds grips the entire space,
Oh! An elegant black cobra fighting with a clever cat in the nature's palace.
Looked like a routine work to be performed by two super flexy guys without suffering,
The situation is evenly poised where no one is voluntarily retreating.
The snake stood tall and dare to look into the fiery eyes of the stranger and clever cat.
The valiant cat with quick reflexes carefully dodges the poisonous with tit for tat.
I reacted and disrupted this endless dwell as my delicate herb was suffocating,
Finally both the agressive creatures left the place with a deep and divine briefing.
Callie had an obsession,
big time was her intention;
she was looking for a preppy,
slim guy in a town
full of chubbies
who drank lots of whiskey:
the best guy was tall Lanny!
Dressed up as Barbie Doll
she roamed shaking her butt,
a cop yelled, " Stop, pussycat:
your shirt makes guys drool! "
Callie laughed at him,
he reacted with a grim,
" A ticket for indecency,
don't ask for clemency! "
She quickly tucked the ticket
in her bra and sped away
tripping on the sidewalk crack;
a drunken fool, a drunken paid
for her summons, a hot body
for sale needed another bail!
Callie looked for a boyfriend,
but she was carried away
by lust and became the next prey;
her life ended: what a tragic end!
Her laughter was not a quest to be reacted to, but a theme to be braided into the menagerie of his life, a sunlight he pursued and a river he helmed, guiding him through all vibrancy to the quiet shore of his love for her.
.
He was a designer of the heart, her laughter the compass pointing north, the clandestine tongue that piloted his soul’s journey.
Each tinkle was an enigma gossiped on the wind, a fiction written in the stars, and his life’s great work was to trace its constellations, to discover every angle and shade, to encounter the response that was not a single word, but the entire poem of their conveyed presence.
It was harmonic in a language only his heart understood, a puzzle of pure pleasure whose pieces he gathered with every passing year.
He was not aspiring for a conclusive solution, but for the infinite possibilities within each new echo, the promise of a forever built on the foundation of a sound that made his world complete.
Her laughter was the sunrise of his days, the constellations of his nights, and the quiet peace that held him through it all.

"While dining at the table of an unimaginable feast
We are asked to consider which one thing we prefer the least
Incomprehensible to me such a query should be presented
For with unquestionable gratitude nothing should be resented
Yet with query though persisted over time we shout out “ the fly”
And in that instant life is seen through quite a different eye
To have so much through gracious gift only to have detracted
By that of such small consequence we all have over reacted
In parallel is life not found to be a feast most spectacular
Yet is not same small fly of our eye the greatest of detractor
To have so much yet to take time in search of what is wrong
Oh !!! What great folly we are guilty of. "

The mind is a mysterious thing
Handling the conscious and unconscious
Simultaneously,
A true multitasker behind its multimasked face.
So much remains below the surface
Monitored, projected and reacted to instinctively
Without even needing to rise to the level
Of conscious awareness.
And what does rise, getting all the attention,
Is often the same old stuff
Patterns and habits, worries, hopes and fears
Wearing deep grooves so hard to erase.
Below, the current shifts, fluidly
In tidal rhythms but with a constantly creative
Playful air that seems to defy
Its survival imperative.
How can the mind be so accepting
In the face of change’s annihilation?
Maybe it knows something in the depths
Which we mere mortals with rational logic reject.
Something fluid, tidal and creative
Something both above and below
Something which is a nothing
But the light reflected in her face.

There are two ants that accidentally fell on the ground due to strong winds. These ants live in two different trees standing very close to each other.
The red ant saw its treehouse collapsed and fell on the ground. The black ant saw it too and quivered, thinking that it's own treehouse will fall down too.
The red ant rushed to the black ant and asked for help, "Can I stay up in your tree? Rain just started and surely floods will appear in an instant..."
Black ant replied, "Oui. Let's hurry!"
After reaching and resting on the highest branch of the black ant's tree, the red ant asked, "Why do most black ants fear us, red ants?"
Black ant reacted, "I don't fear you because of your color. Almost everybody in our black colony believed that you are all mean and hostile because you bite everyone and everything."
Red ant said, "I thought so... but I only bite when I feel threatened ."
Black ant added, "Your red colony believed we are more mean than you because we are colored black like witches."
Red ant whispered, "You wouldn't help me if you're a bad witch!"
Paula persnickety poppycock provided proof
Questioning quarrelsome quick-witted quail
Responsible radicals reacted, reminding raised roof
Shopworn shortbread shakes shifty ships and shale
A meteor crashed into heather,
They reacted together,
Not much later that night,
A young starling took flight.
