Canyons Of Anger

You never were
that kind of father
So I could never be
that kind of son

You saw what you
wanted in others
But with us it was
all zero sum

I reacted to what
you were doing
And not to the bombast
you spread

As the rift ever widened
between us
Into canyons of anger
— and dread
