Indecision Blighted My Life - Or Did It?

Should I have married Jillian?
Could I have slept with Gemma?
I’ve got about a million
of this kind of dilemma.

They crop up in a thrice, of course,
but hang around for ever
(or do they crop up in a force?
Oh, why can’t I be clever?)

I envy those with certitude,
those free of hesitation.
I ‘d love to be the kind of dude
who knows no trepidation.

If doubts exist and qualms are rife,
you, luckiest of creatures,
have found experience in life
to be the best of teachers.

So, if he says he has no fear,
no ambiguity lingers:
he never tried to snuff – it’s clear –
a candle with his fingers.

Premium MemberOm Namah Shivaya

He was calling me through the years.
He sat with me as I cried all my tears.
He was always near by my side,
And now I know it, from the inside.

His face always makes me feel at peace.
He always made my blessings increase.
His essence is growing within my mind,
As I realize to all and myself, I must be kind.

He forgives sins because he understands
All of the differents ways of life in all lands.
He is guiding me now towards the Light,
His essence shall make my soul so bright.

His images, although various, feel familiar,
As though I've known him in past lives prior.
He will be with me my entire life and beyond,
He will gift me a uniquely special bond.

Premium MemberWalking Sadly, Slowly

I am suddenly walking so much slower.
Drowning in my deepening sadness,
As the autumn leaves shower
Unto me as I feel life is meaningless.

Premium MemberShiva's Serenity

Chanting to Him fills me with a serenity
That empowers me to change my reality.
I was chasing my worldly desires for so long,
But I realize in me is all I desired all along.

Praying to Him always leaves me smiling
While clearing my mind through reflecting.
I was praying for a better life for years.
Nowadays I can live life without my old fears.

Praising Him for all my blessings in disguise,
For I learned what the Truth is from the lies.
I realized my worth and walked away.
I now love a man who is like Shiva in a way.

Chanting to Him banishes guilt for my sins,
For I know through Him, love always wins.
In Shiva's serenity, I finally found victory
Over all of that which was hurting me.

Premium MemberPOWER OF THE IVORIES

POWER OF THE IVORIES
~~~~~~~~~~~
I wrote this poem as a remembrance of my mother. Even when macular degeneration and diabetes took her eyesight, she continued playing her beloved piano. I often sat adjacent to her, watching her arthritic fingers dance pirouettes across the 88 ‘blacks and whites,’ lost in creativity and the music. Her pain temporarily dissolved, and she was at peace in her musical heaven, soulfully content.
She walks into the empty room
and sits down on the stool;
her heart engulfed with grief and gloom
from life that has been both kind and cruel.
She knows that she must persevere
though things seem dark and grey;
then wipes away a single tear
as she begins to play.
Familiar music soon takes flight,
her sorrows start to lift;
and so she plays into the night
and feels the music’s gift.
At last, she plays a soft reprise
and feels her gloom depart;
true solace found in ivory keys
That mended her broken heart!
Premium MemberGod alone is
God alone is the all there is
which means that we do not exist
in as a separate ego
for our essence is a bliss mist
ego is but an interface
a tool to navigate earth life
know we are not this body-mind
useless then is struggle and strife
how may we know this to be true
is the question true seekers ask
unless we see God in plain sight
we cannot shed off ego’s mask
fair enough, so let us begin
melding fickle mind with the heart
befriending thought rested silence
being the way God-search we start
unfed by thought ego recedes
heart’s intent invokes magnetism
as polarities meet and greet
bliss cascades in mind-body prism
bliss in permanence the new norm
with eye mindful and touch gentle
our consciousness becomes vast space
where cave of heart is God’s temple
to see God, first ego must die
in timeless time we see His face
we are as is He, living light
His love holds us in close embrace
Premium MemberPat and Pete
	       The paper sack left on the floor
                has come to life. It’s haunted. Look!
		It’s growling and gyrating now—
		gone wild. It’s time somebody took
		control. Aha! I’ve got ya now,
		my little kitties in the sack.
		I’ll get your lunch now, Pat and Pete.
		Okay, I’ll let you ride my back.
		Ouch! Watch the claws. They really hurt.
		I’ll put thick blankets on my lap.
		Then you can be so comfy but
		won’t draw blood. Soon we’ll take our nap.
		You’re fighting for the bouncy ball.
		Sometimes you’re an aggressive pair;
		but, after all, you’re little ones.
		Sometimes my human kids won’t share!
		Don’t climb the curtains, Pat. Oh, Pete,
		you’ve overturned the water dish.
		I see what y’all are staring at.
		You can’t get to the kids’ goldfish!
		You’re so much like the kids when they
		were small—just into everything.
		When they get home from school, we five
		will have ourselves a happy fling.
Premium MemberLucky To Live Here
I reside in a commune of exconvicts,
Lucky I was never convicted.
I reside in a hallway of rooms of addicts,
Lucky to live here unrestricted.
Premium MemberMy Will So Divine
There I now have stars in mine hair.
Attained cosmic radiance beyond compare.
The light of the stars is now all mine.
Cosmos being shifted by my will so divine.
There I now hold the Suns in my hands.
Providing warmth and light to all my lands.
Photosynthesis one of many original laws,
I am simply a new goddess healing flaws.
There I now have the Moons atop my head.
Shifting the tides and oceans of all people.
Guiding in times of darkness and dread,
As I am purifying nights, purging all evil.
There I now hold the Earth in my arms,
As my prayers for every nation and child
Slowly unfold over time reducing the harms
And someday life will be more mild.
Premium MemberCherish The Time You Have Left
Cherish all of that which you have now,
For at the ends of all shared roads
Memories become tears below your brow,
Each event impelled by Earth's lunar nodes.
Cherish all of which is secretly promised,
For at the end of all of this journey of life,
You'll realize how you were always blessed
Even in darkest days of turmoil and strife.
Cherish all of what you once had,
For in the very end you'll see it all again,
Flashing through moments you were glad,
Realizing your light outweighed your pain.
Cherish all of what you desire now,
For there is only so much of the journey left,
Indulge, inspire yourself no matter how,
Enjoy the pleasures you were once bereft.
“creation is substantially nothing but a mere idea-play of Nature on the only Real Substance, God, the Eternal Father”
~ extract from ‘The Holy Science’
Ramana inquired, ‘Who am I?’
Strange it is, no one seems to know
We’re born in this form, which will die
Let’s find the truth in stillness slow
Senses look outward in the world
We assume we’re this body-mind
Lost in desires, we’re by thoughts twirled
The joy we seek, we fail to find
Watching thought spirals come and go
Dropping concepts, if we be still
Releasing cravings of ego
Voids within us on their own fill
Although thoughts cease, we yet exist
As pure awareness self-aware
No to-do list, we’re a bliss mist
Thus with heart of God, we so pair
Ego dies, space and time too fade
We then see our true form as light
At peace in God’s heavenly glade
Love’s imbibed to our heart’s delight
God alone is and we’re as He
He dwells in us and we in Him
That life is a dream we now see
Projected because of God’s whim
When thoughts cease, we metamorphose
Ego dies and we are reborn
Our Self glows in tranquil repose
Death of form is no cause to mourn
Premium MemberThose Two Dates
Those two dates were the greatest in my life,
Until you decided our chemistry was a lie.
Those two dates lead to a period of strife
In which you eventually made me cry.
Those two dates were of so much value,
Until you decided what we have can just die.
Those two dates made me feel it was true
That you too could eventually for me try.
Those two dates made me feel so alive,
Until you decided we can no longer try.
Those two dates made me feel I could thrive
Alongside you until the day you die.
Those two dates are engraved in my heart,
Until you realize we can someday again try.
Those two dates of ours before we fell apart,
Will always be why I'll never die.
Hitler's Watercolours
This one’s a castle; that’s a customs-house.
They’re stolid, listless, just a little dull.
The sky supports an arbitrary gull.
The languidness of Liszt, the style of Strauss
are wholly absent. Colours are metallic.
The eye sweeps over cornice, turret, steeple,
then it dawns on us – there are no people.
Clock towers, mountains, minarets, all phallic,
are void of human life.  Stark, empty chairs
adorn each arid, motionless interior.
As we apprise, eyes sneeringly superior,
we note acerbically his love of stairs –
A Will to Power, ever pushing up.
One daub there is, however, gives us pause:
it dates long before Enabling Laws,
before he dreamed of Kesselring or Krupp:
a bridge that’s quite impossible to cross,
going nowhere, has never carried traffic.
With a boy sitting on it. Startling, graphic,
without a hint of Schadenfreude or Schloss.
Self-portrait, this? What features may we trace?
What’s here vouchsafed? Incipient racist brute?
Hardly. A disarmingly awful suit,
and most revealingly of all – he has no face.
Refuge in the pillow
Rain today has stripped the sky of its clouds
I am forced to seek refuge in the pillow
Books and cactus all enveloped in a shroud
Life may well be priced at a dollar per kilo
Premium MemberWhat is Beautiful?
What could be too beautiful to describe?
A sunset golden in the western sky.
Poetic words of wonder locked inside.
Music so melodic, it makes one cry.
What is so lovely, it happens unseen?
Thankfulness growing in a grateful heart.
Division of two from an unborn gene.
The passing of passion within the dark.
What words bring peacefulness to solemn ears?
“From all candidates, you're not selected,”
for inner strength will be victor of tears.
“You are cared for and always protected.”
What is so beautiful it deserves praise?
Talent expressed in art, uniquely.
The cherished voiced words of a wise, aged, sage.
Good deeds done to bless someone, secretly.
What thoughts are beautiful while living on Earth?
We move to a purpose throughout our lives.
There's a special reason for our birth.
Beauty is best seen with the heart: not the eyes.
