Premium Member Heartbroken is Love's Token

Hearts must break to earn the token.
That love is tired and too softly spoken.
How else can a hurting heart bleed,
to reveal it’s overlooked and in need?

Gathering the pieces, starting anew.
is what helps true love pull through,
the slime and sludge of dreariness,
weighing the heart down with weariness.

Use the token, buy a sweet potion.
A balm to reset the heart in motion.
To lift its beat to quiver anew,
at what love's expectation can do.

Hearts don't have unbreakable skin.
Cracks let healing light get in.
They show you where to mend,
the wounds, to remake an old friend.

Don't hide the loss and grief
Cover with lacquer, and gold leaf,
Showing how the once heartbroken,
can become Kintsugi - love's token.

To my children, Have you ever pondered this

Ask yourself this everyday.
Why in the world do I think this way?
I think such awful things about me.
And think highly of everyone else I see.
But now let's turn it around to you.
And recognize what you do.
I should be my own favorite best friend.
Today is the day that I shall begin.
To myself today I just want to say.
I'm praying that you'll have an excellent day!
May God help you to always smile.
Because to me, you are worthwhile!
If someone today is mean to you.
Just know that I love the things you do.
Thank you so much for always being there.
I find comfort in knowing at least someone cares.
When I am sick, I can count on you.
To be there with me until I pull through.
You are my guest during every meal.
Sharing thoughts with me of how I feel.
You never once say "You're boring me!"
You are what I think a true friend should be!
Just know you are my greatest friend.
The one to be there until my life ends.
Today, I'll smile, but others won't have a clue.
I know I am loved and I want to thank you!!!

Premium Member Undergrowth with Two Figures - Van Gogh

An unpopulated place where
poplars grow
Unseen canopies expose
tree trunks in a row
Wildflowers swoon over
undergrowth below
As back to front figures
watch the panoramic show

Lush vegetation evokes a
spellbinding hue
With violet bark
to engrain their view
Don’t flee this forest
reality will go askew
Stay forever
they may just pull through

Lost in the emerald
is a world of their own
Do they seek solace
have seeds been sown?
In this vibrant thicket
where trees have grown
Have they just come together?
or come back to atone

Perfect is a dream
without fear or dread
One that only ends,
when we go to bed?
The artist knew well,
his final words bled
“Sadness will last forever”
>yet brilliance he spread<

Rudolph's Broken Leg

The snow was soft, the air so still,
When Rudolph stumbled down the hill.
His crimson nose, a beacon dimmed,
As tears welled up, his spirit trimmed.

The elves with haste, their hands so kind,
Mended his leg with time to bind.
"Don’t fret," said Dasher, "We’ll pull through,"
For Christmas magic always grew.

Though Rudolph stayed behind to rest,
His courage lit the North Pole’s quest.
The stars aligned to guide the sleigh,
And love lit up the holiday.

Premium Member Thanksgiving

Twilight curls her lips shyly this foggy morning

Gone is the twinkling of her pearly white spring

Gone are the greedy songbirds herded away

Their perches now bare of whim and whimsy

Cherish your larder as does the ant who dances

Welcome warmheartedly all of Gravity's prances

He has furies of voids to fill, each moment anew

For the seeds that pull through with you, renew

Who are we?

Life. A maze of opportunity
Or is it a winding road to destruction.
Life. A wonderful beautiful destiny
Unless you are facing obstruction
Life. Full of hope and love
Or are you wondering how to stop and get off.
Life. Is difficult, its not easy, its tough
Sometimes it may seem it is all just too much
Life. Something we actually dont choose
Just thrown here to live, survive and pull through
Life. Where do we actually come from?

You're the One

Author Dana Redricks

You are the woman of my dreams, I love every part of you from the bitter to the sweet. You are everything I could ask for and more.

When I saw you, I had to welcome you into the door to my heart. You are an answer to my dream come true. What would I do without you?

Through these hard times you helped me pull through. You're the one I want to share my life with. I can't imagine my life without you. You're like the sweet taste of lemonade. You're the one that makes my dream come true. Thank God Yahweh blessing me with someone like you.

Premium Member After the Flood

After the flood,
There will be a lot of mud.
The mud can be oozy and thick,
And will swallow you up quick.

Some people may be dead,
But don't let that go to your head.
Some may not survive,
But most will be alive.

There will be standing water everywhere.
All around you, it is there.
You will need to use a boat,
Or maybe just float.

The sun will come out,
And erase all of your doubt.
The sun will shine bright,
And give off lots of light.

Peace will be restored,
And you will not be bored.
There is plenty of rebuilding to do,
And as a community, you will pull through.

Where Is the Trust We Used To Have

Please tell me what happened to
The couple who would pull through
All the hard times with a talk
Now it seems like you just walk
Away from serious topics
I don't know when you just started
Keeping this bottled inside
Day after day I've always tried
To unlock the issues building
I just wish you would be willing
To sit down and tell me what
Is so wrong inside your gut
That you just refuse to tell
Allowing everything to swell
Up until you finally break
What is it going to take
Until you can confide in me
To end all this misery
You feel I shouldn't know
I want my trust to grow
And start getting back to when
You can sit near me again
And just talk alone for hours
As your wall is getting lower
Letting me inside once more
Never closing your hearts door

Face of Failure

Your words were like shards cutting deep into my veins
All you ever left me with was the pain
Knowing I will never be anything to you, or anyone else
You beat me down until I was black and blue
And you kept telling me that we would pull through
I should have known that only time would tell

You hide the pain so well, but now your true colors have shown
And nothing could ever replace the only heart I have ever known
You made me believe that I was perfect
But inside every perfect face
Comes the flaws I wish I could erase
But nothing could ever heal me like you do

You used me for your advantage and took a toll on my mind
And every time I see you I loose track of time
Knowing that you were my only option left
But in each happy face
Lies the memories I wish I could evade
But nothing could ever hurt me like you do

A Girl's Dream

Once upon a time there was a girl.

A girl who dreamed of having the life she’d always wanted.

A good job, a husband, some kids, a house… a life.

The girl used to imagine herself growing up and experiencing everything the world had to offer.

When she got older however, she realized the world wasn’t what she dreamed all along.

There’s darkness that seems to overtake the light so much, she forgets it’s even there.

From mass shootings to coastal boomings, the world is scared.

She wanted to make a difference, but she didn’t know how.

She started writing words to find a way out.

Hoping maybe someday her words will ring true. Hoping maybe someday, the world will pull through.

Premium Member Every Door

Every Door

Every door hides a quandary.
That includes yours and mine
No one has the perfect dream
Everyone’s swimming upstream.
Every soul should be protected
Most of them are neglected
All your friends hope you fail
No such thing as a plain sail
Living life is in a mine field
Struggling on, never to yield.

Every day there’s a crisis
Your boss isn’t the nicest
Have you forgotten your black tie?
A failure never knows why
The knives are ready and waiting
Get a new app for your dating
All the women are over Botoxed
Want a picture of your sock box
The pressure's coming to the boil
You’re living in springs coil.

And it’s all down to you
Nothing in life is new
This is it, there’s nothing more
It’s all been done before
From the Romans to the present day
Torture till you slip away
Insecurities are all in your mind
Step outside and you'll find
Your life doesn't lie in tatters
Because nothing matters

Guaranteed you won’t pull through
There’s nothing you can really do!

Our Golden Miracle Day

Yes, our Heavenly Father gave
The Jubilee was meant to bless and to save
Without you I wouldn't behave!

Our lives took a very different turn
By the Holy Spirit our hearts burn
at His feet we sit and learn.

Little did I know that I really needed you,
Forever and ever, here, and in Heaven too!
Side by side our lacks are few.

Your quiet demeaner and sweet smile
Have helped me through many a trial
Keep Your focus my darling, on the top file.

My priority is you and will always be
By the Lord's grace I will make you happy,
Blending our colors, families and ways in unity.

Through many things daily to do,
My favorite is to sit by you.
Another year we will rejoice in and pull through.
