ALCHEMY

ALCHEMY

You don’t believe in magic, well do you
And think all that fantastic fakery is true

A special insight to cards that one picks
Suspended logic, yet they are but tricks

With a beautiful assistant there’s a bond
Who disappears when you wave a wand

You see it was there, and now it’s gone
Yet certainly leaves much to think upon

An audience might gasp with admiration
When acknowledging the prestidigitation

The routine of pulling rabbits from a hat
And wonder just how could they do that

I tell you nothing that you will see is real
They’re just entertainers, what’s the deal

And it’s love when our two hearts engage
More than some act performed on stage

But with us it’s something special I know
This is magic and has nowhere else to go

Summer's Magic Show

Summer's traveling magic show,
Forest prestidigitation,
Hocus Pocus! Leaves on boughs grow
Frogs from tadpoles hibernation
Shape shifting clouds
Lifts winter's shroud.

Butterfly cocoons conjured slow
Constellation levitation,
Apple blossom spells - fruits do sow
Robin's eggs - bird transformation
Magic mystic
Tricks artistic.

Premium MemberPreparations

Clomp, clomp, clomp upon the rooftop
Vroom, whirr, whirr as leaves bounce
Tumbling down rustle and gently land
Fall officially announced

Snip, snip, snip the gardener prunes shrubs
Scratch, scratch, scratch, scrap, scrap, scrap
As he rakes pruned limbs on cement
Pushing shovel and rake

How that gardener can juggle tools
Prestidigitation
Oh, so cool! He displays each day
Great since this is his life's station

Fall leans into winter weather
Drip-drop cold rain freezes
Maybe even crunching ice beneath
Boots,as along ease his

Finis'....I know you are wondering what ease his..well, feet of course..
It is kind of nonsense work so forgive me.

Solitude

Tip toe in dark where mushrooms grow
One step at a time into the cellar cold
Where hollow finds a niche in soils void
Barefooted through chambers down below
Bottles covered in dust line up to count
The years of vintage since they’ve been found
By flashlight or human being in social distancing
A fragile ancient hand waves cobwebs away
Like a magician in the act of prestidigitation
To find the proper drink for this occasion
Take solace in the black on black tonight
When you return Netflix will have your back

The Land of Legerdemain

Let's look to the land of Legerdemain
locale with surprises by sleight-of-hand.
Cards, coins, magic wands tax one's eyes and brain;
absorbed, we watch street performers grandstand.
Legerdemain - skullduggery pre-planned,
audience rapt in magic so diverse
assistants can pinch your wallet or purse.
True talent of prestidigitation
would never aid legerdemain’s perverse
misuse of skillful manipulation.

Tree Trump 160

The deck of cards dealt us reaps forged worship
Proboscis snorts caution to the phlegm leaked
Slowly from prestidigitation
Is the hand quicker than the all seen eye?

A question in a sense sentences speak
Causing our grief to fleece themed thanksgiving
For such a vast empire of handpicked choice
The lasting leaves clinging to broken limbs

Standing as rooted yet appears dead
Fruitless and barren stripped top to bottom
As one questions, "why the song lacks the rhyme?"
Logs stacked await the weight of another

Therefore the gong slaps the chime as truth speaks
To the tune of mockery gasps hatred
And fraud sings the chorus groping schooled thought
As this world just like conversation...

Real Magic

Unlike a magician
          real magic I weave
It's not a trick
     nothing up my sleeve

No abracadabra
           no sleight of hand
No vaudeville act
       or stunt preplanned

No mumbo jumbo
                  no hocus pocus
No smoke and mirrors
            to make eyes lose focus

No prestidigitation
            no attempt to deceive
No optical illusion
           or make believe

Real magic exists
            it's not hard to find
Just close your eyes
          and open your mind

Videlicet: This Three-Notebooked Writing

Takes it a powerful, almighty congerie of the
Most toilsome and rigorous lucubration,
To write these, my poems...my poetries.
Or, insofar as declaring, do I
Attempt thus to prevaricate?
Is my literary legerdemain
And poetic prestidigitation and prognostication such that it
Requires little duty, less laboriousness, and a
Far lesser sort of toilsomeness to compose this,
My poetry?
This be the forty-fourth poetic work by my hand enwritten
In this hebdomadal period-
This week, in short.
Yes, in something lesser than a hebdomadal span, even
Did I complete, thus far,
This three-notebooked writing.
Quotidian was this writing and diurnal,
And hodiernally I can write little of the quondam poems:
Written in such a fervorous, blazing, blurring manner,
That I scarce am sure I canst rightly recall the composition of a solitary one.

Prestidigitation

A zephyr blows
a warm kiss
on the back
of my neck
conjuring desire;
serving Eros—
with sleight of hand:
a gift of flowers—
psyche succumbs.

Devil Hold

If you were to embrace me one moment,
I would melt in the fissures of your throbbing prestidigitation
My heart would dare not let me see the poison you excrete
My mind would make excuses, to be in your arms again

Devil! how you break me down so lovingly,
With fingers so candid on my gyrating frame
I am frightened by the chords you play on me
With those magic lips and that impassioned tongue
I befall speechless as I clutch you

Your auspicious words keep me partially consolidated,
As I tremble with every whisper in this gelatinous agitation
I mean to divorce my pleading fervor so that I may breathe
And overcome this pressing desire to please you

Devil! how you weigh me down so blithely,
I cringe, and I recoil—you merely close in
With certainty you plunge unwavering
Your sorcery slaying all of my resistance

If I were to embrace you again,
The fires of promise you enchant me with would die, and slowly
The ice of your soulful lies would shatter my mind, so fixedly
And my stubborn heart would cry, cursedly,

“You have endured thus far, and forever always!”

Pretentious

I shared my florid words
about our torrid love
with an ardent lover,
who exclaimed propitiously
that they were astonishing;
then solicitously,
she asked me to elucidate,
how did this prestidigitation occur;
from whence did I extricate
these words of exultation,
these harmonic chords of verbiage,
that resonated so intimately
with her psyche.

When the real question is:
how did they find me?

The Inevitable Elements

The Inevitable Elements

No prestidigitation, clairvoyance, or incredulous miracle
Can stave off that which is inevitable
Encumbrances of the day with vicissitude in decay
Pray on dramatic soliloquy born to die
We praise element 117 ununseptium discovered today. (Fact)
Like a chimerical era gone by, which seems almost sui genres
Yet not so unique in the comical sense of life and meaning
Encumbrances of discovery of the day seem mundane in the light of day
Colloquial to some not in or of that disposed nature
To understand that which is and is not the truth
The periodic table grows in numbers
We forge on in the dark of days
And pray that the inevitable stays in play
As ubiquitous and sane as ever

Revelry of the Glutton

There’s a drumstick in the refrigerator and it’s calling out my name,
There’s some biscuits and gravy next to it and they are doing just the same.

How do they know me and what is it that they want me to do?
Do they really think that I can devour them any better than you?

Have my talents at culinary consumption reached such a peak,
That the food now requests some quality time nestled in my cheek?

With prestidigitation the food will disappear from my plate,
By slight of hand I’ll fill my mouth and then I’ll masticate.

I'm the best one to contact when there’s food around to swallow?
I don’t want to brag but I’ve never left the table feeling hollow.

Come to me you leftover foods allow me to fill your destiny,
For I alone can make you happy while you digest in me.
